Product Description

This hot sauce is popular in Malaysia and it goes well with Thai food especially Thai pepper steak, or barbeque dishes such as Thai barbeque beef, Thai barbeque chicken or barbeque pork. We find this sauce to be refreshing and delicious, although it's very sweet with more of a "candy" flavor than a high heat chile flavor. It doesn't leave a harsh aftertaste and it's very versatile. No preservatives or artificial flavor, all natural.

Saw this hot sauce featured in one of my food magazines and decided to try it.Was a good decision as this sauce has just the right balance of sweet to hot.Have used it in combination with other ingredients to spice things up and have not been disappointed. Hard to believe chilies, sugar, vinegar and salt are the only ingredients, nothing artificial!Wish I could find it in my area but am glad that I took a chance to order on line. Have ordered it twice and received product in about a week.Lingham's is the best!

This is my favorite hot sauce. It has enough sweetness to balance the pleasant heat. It is absolutely delicious on everything, especially on chinese food or any kind of pork. I highly recommend this sauce. $11.50 for two bottles is a little steep though, you can find it cheaper elsewhere.

Lingham's Hot Sauce "Original" is my absolute favorite everyday hot sauce, it is a perfect combination of sweet followed with spicy addition to Chinese food, eggs, or anything that needs a kick in the flavor department. I was introduced to this product as a young boy when my family would take me into LA's China Town for Dim Sum and we would go to the Asian Market for supplies for the the meals Mom would fix at home. I was able to buy it at CostPlus World Market for a period of time but they stopped carrying it. My other source, a local Asian Market I used to also get it at went out of business and I was down to the last of my stash when I did a product search on Amazon and found suppliers. If you want a sweet heat without that vinegar after taste this the product for you.

I've been using this hot sauce for years as part of my collection of sauces. If you are looking for a strong vinegar based hot sauce this is not it. But if you are looking for a sweet-n-hot sauce, this is perfect. I've never been fond of the way most of the hot sauces are dominated by an overpowering vinegar tart. They have their place, but as a straight sauce on most foods, by the time you have the food warm to the taste, there may be little taste of the food left.

I've found this sauce a delightful departure from ketchups and other similar condiments, used right on fresh foods including just plain rice.

Lingham's Hot Sauce is the best hot sauce in the world because it is dynamite hot, has the right amount of spiciness, has a great consistency, nice color, and it stores well at room temperature. My family uses it on eggs, thai soup, pea soup, beans and many other foods. it is a great condiment that is always on our table.

This is a tasty sauce - great for adding a nice zing to standard ketchup and making a really nice french dressing with a half half ketchup / hot sauce mix. The sauce is also perfect for dipping and as a replacement for the usual spicy sweet thai chili sauce. Using sweet thai chili sauce as an reference this is a thick clear red sauce that is slightly less spicy and has less of a garlic taste to it. it has no (chili / garlic onion) pieces in it. Good stuff and very versatile and will not over power the standard western palette that may be sensitive to spice levels.

This delicious hot sauce is really not super hot. A slight sweetness makes it able to be enjoyed with a number of different foods and flavers. It is great with meat, fish and even potatoes. A friend introduced me to this sauce. It is now regularly on our table.

I was delighted to find the sauce through Amazon. I'll be buying more as needed.

I read an opinion piece by Dominique Zamora on Foodbeast today that is titled "Why Tabasco Is - and Always Will Be - Better than Sriracha."

Sad times for ol' Tabasco for sure. Their marketing team is in overdrive, trying to stanch the bleeding. Where do you go after Green Pepper, Habanero, Chipolte and Garlic Pepper? I think the problem is Sriracha is cheaper for restaurants and food trucks to stock than Tabasco -- and the bottle is bigger.

I stock both Huy Fong Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce and Tabasco brand Pepper Sauce - Original Red at my house but that doesn't prevent me from trying new sauces. There's an Asian grocery store we frequent where I have a standing $20 adventurer shopping list. I buy ethnic foods - things I've never had before and things I've never even heard of before - so long as the total doesn't exceed $20. When I find a winner, I come to Amazon to add it to my Subscribe & Save shopping list.

Life is too short for a routine menu.

That's how I recently discovered Lingham's Hot Sauce and Lingham's Hot Sauce with Ginger & Garlic. These sauces are imported from a Malaysian company with roots back to 1908, closer to Tabasco brand Pepper Sauce on the nostalgic culinary timeline than the relatively-new, 30-ish Huy Fong Sriracha.

Lingham's Hot Sauce is spicy and sweet, a great multi-use condiment.
