3.0 out of 5 stars 29 Pocket Language Translator, July 13, 2006

I think this is a great translator when translating from english to the other language but it has a difficult time translating from the other languages to english. I speak very fluent Spanish. I'm learning how to speak Romanian and this is why I purchased the translator. It has come in handy many time when I been trying to communicate with our Romanian employees but it has some difficulties when they're trying to translate to me from Romanian to english. The Spanish language works very well. I like that it does have some phrases set up that I have been able to utilize both in Spanish and Romanian. My over all rating is that for a mechanical device it does work very well. I give it a B+.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for General Purposes, January 4, 2007
Being a world traveler and not knowing what country I'll be visiting next, this translator seemed perfect. Who knows how many of the 29 languages I'll end up using.

The word-to-word translation is pretty good, but don't look for subtle innuendos or even common slang. It also has a phrase-translation that can be quite humorous - I'm not sure when I'd ever need to translate "I want to be your slave until I die". But it does contain all the typical things a traveler would need - - stuff about hotels, train stations and sight-seeing.

It also has a world clock which is fun and useful.

All-in-all, this translator is exactly what I expected and it a very convienent size to keep in your pocket or purse.

I highly recommend it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Useless., December 12, 2007

I bought this in hopes that it would help ease the language barrier while working as a teacher in Korea. I have found it easier to learn Korean than learning how to operate this gadget. I find a $5.00 translation book much more helpful in navigating my new world. However, I did manage to set the time on it, so it's an expensive clock.
