I bought this for my 3 1/2 month old daughter almost a month ago and she loves it more everyday! It has many different textures and colors for her to explore. Plus it has flashing lights and fun car sounds such as a honking horn, turn signal and the sound of tires stopping. It also plays music such as "the wheels on the bus" and about 4 others. The music and sounds arent too loud and the music actually is pretty easy on the ears. Baby can watch the blinking lights, hear music and sounds and explore with her hands. Since this is part of the linkadoos line you can attach your other linkadoos to it. It does come with a linkadoo puppy attached. She can activate it by pressing on the center "stearing wheel" for a short song or MOM or DAD can press the REMOTE CONTROL to start it and stop it for them. When you activate it through the remote control the songs are longer in length. I never thought I would like to listen to a musical toy but this one doesnt bother me. And the more important thing is she likes it.

I got this as a shower gift and was very excited to use it. Unfortunately, when I went to one of those "seat-belt checking" seminars, they informed my husband and I that this toy could be a projectile in an accident, and it was urged to us that this toy not be used with the carseat (especially with an infant). So instead of returning it, I use it in her stroller, and our daughter loves to laugh and play with it. It especially works at dinner time when we are sitting at the table. When she gets anxious, we just push the remote, and she starts laughing and playing with the toy.

I just bought this item yesterday for my 6 mo old son. This toy actually requires an additional 3 "AA" batteries to operate (also the 9 volt for the remote control). It has been baby tested and he even plays with it in his highchair, on the floor (basically, the useage goes beyond the car seat or stroller). One little problem so far..... After installing brand new batteries for initial use; I kept pressing the yellow horn (the power was switched on) numerous times before it finally turned on. I may have a defective toy, but it seems pretty difficult to hit the horn to get the toy to start (blinking lights, music, etc). The toy actually will keep playing after taking a moments break for up to 2 hours before it stops (then you or baby have to hit the yellow horn to get it to start again). There is a label on the front of the toy giving a brief explanation of this. I will wait before attempting to exchange this toy for a different one, as it just may be how the toy operates normally. Otherwise, this is was a great purchase! The activities for baby are limited to watching the lights, listening to the music or horn, etc. and playing with attached linkadoos or the doggie. But it is bright and a really neat lap toy to keep him or her occupied in the car or elsewhere. Underneath the toy, has a strap that velcros closed (you wrap it around the crotch belt on the car seat) and two plastic white clips that you use to slip the harness seatbelt into. It is not meant to be a very snug fit (supposed to wiggle or move a bit on baby's lap). It seems very safe; the backside of the lap toy has a cloth flap that velcros closed (and underneath is the battery compartment (needs small phillips screwdriver to open) and has the on/off/loud switch)). Glad I bought it for baby!!
