I bought this for my 3 1/2 month old daughter almost a month ago and she loves it more everyday! It has many different textures and colors for her to explore. Plus it has flashing lights and fun car sounds such as a honking horn, turn signal and the sound of tires stopping. It also plays music such as "the wheels on the bus" and about 4 others. The music and sounds arent too loud and the music actually is pretty easy on the ears. Baby can watch the blinking lights, hear music and sounds and explore with her hands. Since this is part of the linkadoos line you can attach your other linkadoos to it. It does come with a linkadoo puppy attached. She can activate it by pressing on the center "stearing wheel" for a short song or MOM or DAD can press the REMOTE CONTROL to start it and stop it for them. When you activate it through the remote control the songs are longer in length. I never thought I would like to listen to a musical toy but this one doesnt bother me. And the more important thing is she likes it.

I got this as a shower gift and was very excited to use it. Unfortunately, when I went to one of those "seat-belt checking" seminars, they informed my husband and I that this toy could be a projectile in an accident, and it was urged to us that this toy not be used with the carseat (especially with an infant). So instead of returning it, I use it in her stroller, and our daughter loves to laugh and play with it. It especially works at dinner time when we are sitting at the table. When she gets anxious, we just push the remote, and she starts laughing and playing with the toy.

I just bought this item yesterday for my 6 mo old son. This toy actually requires an additional 3 "AA" batteries to operate (also the 9 volt for the remote control). It has been baby tested and he even plays with it in his highchair, on the floor (basically, the useage goes beyond the car seat or stroller). One little problem so far..... After installing brand new batteries for initial use; I kept pressing the yellow horn (the power was switched on) numerous times before it finally turned on. I may have a defective toy, but it seems pretty difficult to hit the horn to get the toy to start (blinking lights, music, etc). The toy actually will keep playing after taking a moments break for up to 2 hours before it stops (then you or baby have to hit the yellow horn to get it to start again). There is a label on the front of the toy giving a brief explanation of this. I will wait before attempting to exchange this toy for a different one, as it just may be how the toy operates normally. Otherwise, this is was a great purchase! The activities for baby are limited to watching the lights, listening to the music or horn, etc. and playing with attached linkadoos or the doggie. But it is bright and a really neat lap toy to keep him or her occupied in the car or elsewhere. Underneath the toy, has a strap that velcros closed (you wrap it around the crotch belt on the car seat) and two plastic white clips that you use to slip the harness seatbelt into. It is not meant to be a very snug fit (supposed to wiggle or move a bit on baby's lap). It seems very safe; the backside of the lap toy has a cloth flap that velcros closed (and underneath is the battery compartment (needs small phillips screwdriver to open) and has the on/off/loud switch)). Glad I bought it for baby!!

Extremely Boring for Baby,
This review is from: Link-a-doos Car Seat Dashboard with Remote Control (Toy)
My son has never been interested in this toy. It is a pain to affix to his lapbelt in the carseat and I couldn't get the remote to affix anywhere in my car either. When I tried letting him play with it in the house, he wouldn't go near it. This was a great idea for a toy (with the remote), but it's essentially a big pillow that sings the same, repititive song with a little stuffed animal attached to the side (which is also too hard for babies to pull off). There's nothing for baby to do except press the center (you have to press fairly hard), and that gets old quickly! If you can find it used somewhere for under $10, great! Otherwise, save your money!

I bought this toy for my 4 month old to occupy him on long car trips. It was SO annoying to attach to the car seat, and it didn't sit on his lap so he couldn't even see it. The music is annoying. One of the settings is for "soothing" music but it sounded the same as the non-soothing music to me. As for durable, forget about it. I had this toy for less than 3 months, with VERY limited usage, and now it doesn't work at all. I replaced the battery and it still doesn't work. It was a waste of money. I would have been better off just getting one of those toy bars.

I bought this item because my daughter often got bored in her car seat. I thought this might keep her occupied. The concept is a good idea, but the toy needs some work. I found it hard to attach to her carseat, and the link and key are on the same side of the toy so she gets the entangled often. The parent control is great when she has trouble getting it to play music, but it does not fit on my visor.

I was given this as a gift. My daughter has just loved it. Before she was able to turn it on I was able to control it just like my garage opener on my sun visor. After she learned how to turn it on herself she plays with it all of the time going down the road. It is a great pacifier while on the road whether for a short or long drive. The batteries have lasted a really long time in it also. Would highly recommend!!!

I have a 12 week old son who has screamed his head off in the car until I recently drug this toy out. Although we have a different version of it (ours has a lion cub in the middle and is mostly red.) Well, I'll turn it on for him as I'm putting him in the car seat for our 25 minute drive home from the sitter's house. I love that I can control turning it off and on to give him a variety of quite time and fun time. This is soooo AWESOME! It keeps him entertained the entire drive home. Finally, my baby is happy and I can concentrate on the traffic. We are so much safer in the car now that I'm not having to continually turn around and try to soothe him. A helpful hint: I don't attach it to the car seat - I attach it to the harness part of the seat belt in the back seat so it sits across from him. This way he can see the blinking lights and he kicks the lion part to turn it off and on. So very worth the price!

I bought this for my son when he was about 4 months old. Although I really liked the features, music, and soft feel of it, I did not like how how it sat on his lap. There is a plastic piece underneath that I felt on a long drive would become bothersome on his bare legs kindof digging in them (it was summer) and I feel it sat too low and did not tilt up enough towards him for him to be able to play with it. Unfortuneately, because it secures to the straps of the seat it was not adjustable and was returned for something else.

I bought this toy to keep my 6 month old entertained in the car. She didn't seem interested in it except for the toy that was attached. Sometimes when you press the horn, it doesn't go off. Other times the slightest little nudge will set it off. Sometimes every bump I hit on the road would keep setting it off. It was a little anoying. Also there should be more of a variety of noises.
