LinkedIn in 30 minutes helped this old guy from being overwhelmed by the intricacies and "demands" LinkedIn seems to think we should devote all our free time to. Actually, the first 5 minutes saved everyone on my email contact list from disowning me. I reversed the error I made and stopped bothering everyone while I worked through the rest with the simple guidance from Melanie Pinola. Money well spent.

This book does everything it claims. I gives you a great introduction to linkedin and gives you tips on how to make a good profile.

The downside is that linkedin, like many social websites, is constantly changing and so I was not able to follow the authors instructions precisely in a few instances.

Another thing you should know is that you could use this book to create the best profile and still show up in searches behind the guy that paid for the "premium" account. I suppose it ultimately comes down to how you use your account and the author explains how to do that.

I liked this book a lot. The content was good and the style was light and fun. I applied many of the things mentioned in this book to my profile.

I was looking for a guide to LinkedIn when I realized that the author of this book is one of my favorite writers for Lifehacker! Always loved her advice and resourcefulness, so I wasn't surprised that she wrote this book for the mass of people who are looking to get the best out of the LinkedIn service.

Like what the other reviewer said, this book is full of useful tips and suggestions. Now I'm looking forward to building up my connections and see where LinkedIn takes me.

While it may look like this book is primarily targeted at people who aren't very tech-savy, it's actually a handy guide and full of good tips and insights on how to get the most out of LinkedIn.

After reading this book (it's a short and super-fast read), I logged into LinkedIn right away and immediately applied some of the author's advice to improve my profile. Much of what is in the book is common sense but there are lots of easy, simple suggestions on how to get the most out of LinkedIn, whether you're looking for like-minded people or mentors in your industry, job-seeking, or simply trying to advance your career.

It doesn't make a difference if you're already an active user, if you created an account years ago but have hardly touched it since then, or if you're just curious to know how LinkedIn can benefit you. This book demonstrates how LinkedIn can be useful for you in ways you might not have considered yet.

This book is a handy tool that not only assists with building your LinkedIn profile, but expanding your connections network and addressing issues in your resume. Before reading, I thought I had a basic understanding of LinkedIn, but there were so many other amazing features that I had no idea even existed. It is so much more than just an online resume.

Although LinkedIn is a user-friendly site, this guide explained the ins-and-outs of interacting with your connections. It helped really DEFINE the contents of your profile; what you absolutely need to include, such as keywords to attract recruiters and a strong profile headline.

A quick, but extremely informative guide that gets right down to the basics, providing examples that are easy to follow (and quite entertaining...love the Kevin Bacon/Tiger Woods reference) and can make even a beginner user an expert within 30 minutes.

Although Linkedin keeps changing, this short guide did provide enough to get me (a novice on Linkedin) going in the right direction. I have found online help or other resources helpful when facing trickier issues with LI.
