5.0 out of 5 stars Charlie rocks, December 5, 1999

Every and any record that Charlie Terrell puts out is worth your time and money. "On the Wings of Dirty Angels" really got me hooked, and "Angry Southern Gentleman" solidified it. Everyone needs Charlie Terrell's music, and if you meet him, buy him a Jack & Coke!

5.0 out of 5 stars Where do you go once you have reached the top?, July 18, 1999

Answer: Terrell expands his musicial song writing abilities & knocks out another album full of emotion! This new album exposes songs composed of rock, blues, folk, & a touch of gospel feel. Being a fan of Terrell since his 1st album, I have yet to be dissapointed. If you love great music, great songs, & great writers, do yourself a favor, check this album out! Also, wanna add a little pepper to your soup? Go to his homepage & read the stories & lyrics... but wear a seat belt, cause you are gonna go for a ride!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Gem from Terrell, July 14, 1999
This review is from: 3 Links In A Broken Chain (Audio CD)
Though I've only heard Hypocrite Shoes, 3 Links in a Broken Chain proves once again, C. Terrell is a visionary singer, song writer and story teller. I've followed his career since the prolific debut CD, Wings of Dirty Angels and have enjoyed every opportunity to catch him live. Do yourself a favor and indulge yourself with the latest release from one of today's most thoughtful and engaging performers. I can't wait to hear the rest of it. S. Barker

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank Jesus, Terrell keeps rolling!, March 26, 2000

Like most Terrell fans, I got hooked back in the early ninetees after hearing "On the Wings of Dirty Angels". After my only copy of this album was stolen, (I hope the petty thief enjoys it!), I have been unable to get hold of another copy. Luckily, Terrell has released more superb albums after this, and "3 Links" is no exception. Get this album - and enter the world of Charlie Terrell! Alternatively, go to jesuspill.com and get a taste.... PS! Anybody got a spare copy of "dirty angels?"

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrell just keeps getting better!, July 23, 2000

Another reviewer wrote, "The fact that he is not more famous for his work is a pathetic commentary about the state of music today." Yes, it's pathetic but not at all surprising! He's got all the substance, passion, grit, depth that is missing from most other modern music. His albums just get stronger. I enjoy each of them for different reasons. Every album woth the wait, and 3 Links is no exception.

5.0 out of 5 stars Soul, uh huh, and genius, July 6, 2000

Whoever locked Charlie in a closet as a child and beat him repeatedly with a bible did the world a favor. He is a real genius, making music that is both lyrically beyond poetic and musically sublime. The fact that he is not more famous for his work is a pathetic commentary about the state of music today. Actively seek out this music, it is totally worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Like Magic... ...Every Time, July 12, 2004
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 3 Links In A Broken Chain (Audio CD)
I never thought I could love a record as much as this guy's first three efforts. I was wrong.

This album is kind of a double edged sword. The songs are a tribute and a way for Charlie to deal with the death of his longtime musical cohort and estranged friend, Richard Smith (HAWK). The songs deal with love, loss, grief and all the other emotions that go hand in hand with life and death.

Someone once told me "...you write the best stuff when you have the blues." In the case of 3 Links In A Broken Chain, that guy was right.
