Rah Rah, sssss Boom Bah, July 29, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Links LS 98: The Official Strategy Guide (Secrets of the Games Series) (Paperback)
Although this publication claims to reveal the "secrets" of LinksLS, it is nothing more than a pep talk. Its illustrations are very difficult to see, there is a lot more to putting and other subleties to the game than the authors bothered to mention. The book is extremely overhyped. The authors indicate they are doing one a big favor by "revealing" the "secret" swing meters. This information is readily available on the web, along with tips on putting, loft, wind and other factors that are much more detailed and useful to the online golfer. In summary, my psychiatrist might recommend it to improve my moral, but it is not going to improve my golf game. Do not waste your hard-earned bucks. Search the web for LinkLS and get much more useful information on game play.

Terrific strategy guide, December 25, 1999
This review is from: Links LS 98: The Official Strategy Guide (Secrets of the Games Series) (Paperback)
This is a big improvement over most "strategy guides" I've encountered. Most guides I've come across should have been included in the game itself. Jensen and Ferguson have written a book that actually adds value. I found their descriptions of the swing meters and the physics of control very helpful. So did others I know who have played the game. Nice job.

course management????, July 16, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Links LS 98: The Official Strategy Guide (Secrets of the Games Series) (Paperback)
I find it hard to belive that they could even do a course management in know for a fact that using breezy normal medium you have over 32 different wind positions and being that i have over 1000 on -line games an under par handi capp i have only had a few games that actually have matched their given shots.. In addition i find that after having developed my own distance and putting & chipping charts are much more accurate than those shown .. I would like to say on a good note they do present a good slice & hook chart for no wind conditons and basic explaination of game is good nothing outstanding as i have heard others say...just my opion..Sheldonz TPC

Excellent start for the beginner and tips for the experience, June 28, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Links LS 98: The Official Strategy Guide (Secrets of the Games Series) (Paperback)
When i first began playing LS98 I could not find very many ways to improve. I soon after found this book by Chris Jensen about LS98. My game improved tremendously as I read it. Alot of the information is an easy read and it offers many tips for both the beginner and even a seasoned Ls98 golfer. I still use it when I am not sure about a shot, I read the pertaining paragraph, for instance windy conditions and then develop the strategy for my shot. There are many places online to get great information, but I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for that little extra edge

A comprehensive review of the technical aspects of good scores in LinksLS. This book contains all the information necessary to take the guess work out of making great shots and shooting low scores. While the charts are the most often used feature of the book, their discussion of course and personal managment is also of value. Included are chart for all clubs, conditions, and types of shots. Practice with this data and yours scores will plummet immediately. As you gain an understanding of the physics of the great golf shot, your opponents will fall at your feet.
