4.0 out of 5 stars Good for Linksys products the same size bad for smaller products
Had no problems for the most part with these brackets. Some reviewers were concerned about the brackets not fitting some linksys swithces and routers. This is true for the small ones like the EXXS88W 8-port switch. For those you have to use the little notches built into the bracket, which are not that deep and if your wall mounting the switch could fall off. For the...

The fact that it is called a stacking bracket led me to believe that it would be useful for stacking. In fact, it is only useful for stacking some of the smaller footprint Linksys products on top of a full-size one. I was hoping to put it between a couple of full-size units to allow more airflow, but it doesn't work.

Also, as for the wall mount feature, the router (or...

For the larger Linksys routers like the WRT54G it works perfectly.

I was hoping to put it between a couple of full-size units to allow more airflow, but it doesn't work.

Also, as for the wall mount feature, the router (or whatever product you mount), is only secured to the bracket by the friction of the four short little legs poked into the four holes on the bracket. There is no additional screw or fastener. Linksys says "don't put any pressure at all" on the wall-mounted item.

Plus, who needs ten of them?

Very limited use for this product, if any.

5.0 out of 5 stars Linksys SM01 Wall Mount and Stacking Bracket, March 19, 2007
This review is from: Linksys SM01 Wall Mount and Stacking Bracket (package of one Bracket) (Personal Computers)
The product works fine. It seems kind of strange that I had to purchase a package of 10 in order to get just the 2 that I needed. The Linksys unit is just attached to the bracket by pressure so I ran a long zip tie through the bracket and around the Linksys units to make sure they didn't pop off.

4.0 out of 5 stars Must remove rubber feet, July 21, 2006

I bought one of these on eBay. It took me a while to figure out that you have to remove the rubber feet on the router. (I've got a WRT54GL.) I used a pair of pliers, which ended up tearing one of the feet a bit. After that, wall mounting was straightforward. The router is held in place by friction, but the friction is pretty decent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Note easy to find..., September 8, 2005

The 10 pack of wall mounts is exactly what it says it is. 10 plates that mount many of the Linksys products on a wall. Too bad that you have to buy 10 to get the two I needed. I looked in many places to buy these and NOBODY but Amazon seemed to have them. They came quickly and they work fine. I've shared the extras with friends and work.

I was having difficulty with the fact that the wrt54gs did not have its own place/space. After surfing through amazon I found this wall mount that I thought was perfect for my problem. I have mounted it to the wall and now it is very secure. I have found the solution for my tiny problem.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pointless Product, January 10, 2008
This review is from: Linksys SM01 Wall Mount and Stacking Bracket (package of one Bracket) (Personal Computers)
I do not have one of these mounts but was thinking of buying one. Here is what I have concluded: The mount goes on the wall, but nothing firmly attaches the product to the mount so stiff cabling or a vibration of a wall or anything the like could cause your equipment to fall. Higher quality devices have metal construction with screw hole mounting. Given that these Cisco/Linksys products are primarily for the home user with little to no Network knowledge they are made easy to use with plastic cases so that if they do fall they wont be damaged that much. The rubber feet keep them from falling off a table where most home users would put them. After examining my WRT54GL and removing one of the feet from the case i realized the mount wasn't even needed!! simply line up your router on the wall and take a pencil and outline the footprints of the four legs, next remove the feet and screw them to the wall with a small screw and a washer in order to keep the screws from pulling through the rubber if ever removed. This widens the pressure of the rubber foot mount on the wall. While lining up the pencil marks screw them in place. Once this is done you will have the four feet on the wall mounted by screws. After your four feet are attached simply push the router back onto the feet you just attached on the wall. Voila instant mounting tabs that are not only free but included with your equipment and if putting them on is anything like taking them off it should hold very well.

You would think that when you buy a bracket of any sort, the package would include the mounting screws. Well, this doesn't and you aren't made of aware of that until you open the box. I'm a strong advocate of Linksys products but this falls under the category of "screw the customer".

4.0 out of 5 stars Linksys Bracket, January 26, 2009
This review is from: Linksys SM01 Wall Mount and Stacking Bracket (package of one Bracket) (Personal Computers)
Mounts the Linksys Systems very well and easily. A great option to keep your router or wireless off the shelf and at a high point on the wall. This will allow greater wireless range.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great, January 19, 2009
This review is from: Linksys SM01 Wall Mount and Stacking Bracket (package of one Bracket) (Personal Computers)
I got a couple of these for my WRT54G routers. It's a pain getting the feet out of the router (I've found a screw works well for pulling them out). There is plenty of friction to hold the router to the mount. One is wall mounted and the other is suspended upside down under my desk. It's been there over a year and has never budged. I suppose you can cable tie it to the mount, or run a couple of small self-tapping screws into the legs, but it isn't needed.
