Never knew what "Skype" was until I bought another phone
at Wal-mart...and hooked it up and was able to make clear sounding call thru the interest for pennies a minute.
Later I wanted to be able to sit on the couch and talk so
I found this cordless iPhone by Linksys (a name I trust) and this is
cordless and I can talk anywhere, even has a speaker.

I picked up this phone to have more flexibility using skype for international work calls from home. It has been so great that I have transitioned all of my business calls to this line and just foward or bring this phone with when I am not at my home office. It works best on a computer that has a cable connection vs a wireless, but I have used it many ways and even in a hotel room several times. The ring distinctions are also convienent when using this from home, you know which calls are personal and which are business with ease.

A seller sent me this phone and it wasn't compatible with MS Windows 7. It has a manufactured date of July 2006, and as far as I am concerned that is obsolete gear. The seller was Renovation - Amazon Marketplace. They promised to give me a refund if I cancelled my A-Z claim and returned the unit. I did it and they never issued my refund. They will probably change their name after this review.

It was a pretty good product in its day but that day is long gone. Note the other products available for Skype and give this one a pass. I "decommissioned" mine about a year ago. For good quality normal phone use I have found that Vonage is still the best bet. You can plug a good quality cordless phone set into your Vonage device and enjoy "normal" phone service anywhere in the world. Regular Skype is great but it is still computer dependent. Vonage is computer "independent. The same goes for Magic Jack. Not quite the voice quality of Skype or Vonage but wow the price is right (again computer dependent) but you can plug your normal cordless phone set into it and use it anywhere in the world.

The Phone is a Skype phone and not a true VOIP only phone. The team at the company accepted that the description was misleading and will be updated with my comments. They were very helpful after some initial exchanges of email and i would rate their response as 5 star and very customer focused once all was clarified! peter in particular was outstanding in his responses. I would purchase from them again.

I'm sure the phone is great but $160 + $30 shipping cost? I'm sorry. They're sold on ebay for under 60 bucks and free shipping ;-)
