Linnaeus Vasen - fabulous!, February 3, 2009

It's a pity this fabulous disk was given a negative review (previous posting) based on the format. My copy (purchased in the USA) is certainly not a CD ROM (and even if it was I wouldn't much care as long as it plays!) Vasen is a purely instrumental group from Sweden with a unique sound, unlike that of any other group known to me. This album is their musical tribute to their countryman, the Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus. The tunes are memorable and repay repeated listening. Highly recommended.

Great disc! BUT it's a CD-Rom!!!, January 18, 2008

Great music here but I will focus my review on the quality of the disc.
I bought this CD from Amazon.fr and was sealed wih the original celophane and the US white sticker on top of the jewel case.
BUT when I opened it - guess what - is a CD-Rom. Yes, green underneath. It have the normal serial number printed in black, like a standard CD-Rom have... I searched on Google with that number and it appears to be a Verbatim CD-Rom.
Had contacted the Vasen's and Northside sites and Olov Johansson, member of Vasen didn't knew.
Rob Simonds of Northside told me that they are producing CD-Rs for economical reasons. Ok, but at least they could warn its consumers!
Some people might think this isn't important, I do think it is very important!
