Recieved the item broken and defective. The frame for the hatches was split and the rear panel didn't have the holes to attach it. I contacted Linon and after some phone tag got to speak to a real person. Told the gentleman what was broke and defective. He said they would replace the parts and ship them no charge. I had the replacement parts in two days. Great Customer Service. Other companies should follow their example. I would definitely buy another Linon product.

Do NOT get this item! I spent a lot of time searching for just the right bench seat for my foyer. This was perfect for my needs and the reviews seemed to indicate good customer service in case there was damage in shipment. I've never had any problems ordering things through Amazon, so went ahead and ordered it. The delivery box looked a little beat up, but believing in good styrofoam packing procedures I didn't immediately open it as I was in the process of moving into my new home and had higher priority boxes to get to. Close to 30 days later I finally had enough open space in my living room to open the box up and spread the parts out in preparation for putting it together. I found a loose screw in among the pieces and discovered the left side frame was broken in several places along the top rail and had a chunk of wood missing from the top arm. Under the split seat are four bars of wood attached by screws. Well, there are supposed to be four. I had three and one of them was broken. The other two were a bit loose. I had to buy slightly larger width screw to reattach them properly. Needless to say, I contacted Customer Service. Never could reach them by phone through multiple tries and my first e-mail was answered after two days wanting to know the part numbers of the items in question. (I had already provided this info in my first e-mail.) I provided the info again along with my Amazon order number as proof of purchase - BTW you only have 30 days to provide this info in case something is wrong. This isn't mentioned anywhere until you get the assembly instruction booklet. Another two days later I received this very helpful reply <<Unfortunately we do not have any replacement parts for this model. You will need to go through the original place of purchase for a full exchange or refund. We apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks, Support>> So, DON'T order this item. If it comes damaged you are out of luck. The box and packing were too beat up to re-use and I'm not going to even attempt to fit everything into a new box to send back. Exchange it for what? Another bench with broken pieces? I don't think so.

Hello - This came in organized pieces but was to heavy for myself to carry. It did not take my fiance very long to put the bench together. We use it all the time for our winter stuff storage (gloves, hats, scarves, etc). I would recommend this bench to anyone who is looking for something nice for their entry way and is functional. I'm currently in the process of having someone sew cushions for them (two seats split in middle).

Put this on my porch. I have a note for the postman to put packages inside it so they don't sit outside my door all day. It works great, I like the smooth finish. But I am going to put a coat to protect it from the weather soon.

We are still enjoying this chest 1 year later. We've been using it for a toy box for my 3 year old daughter. The hinges were a little rough/sticky at first, so my husband replaced them with ones that will stay open. It's large enough that she can fit all her toys inside and still have some extra room.

This is a bit RED for Walnut, so this will end up in a different room with cherry-ish accents where it will fit better... I'm actually wondering if maybe I got a Cherry one instead of Walnut, but the picture is hard to tell. this is a VERY low bench, and it's got a lot of obvious "touch ups" on the finish and a very flimsy internal bottom shelf (pressed board) So while the storage AREA is quite roomy, you'd risk the shelf if you placed anything heavy or slightly damp inside... I wanted this for an entry way bench instead of a hall tree.. but will end up getting a hall tree instead. This is such a low and long bench, it's almost a wasted space anywhere you put it. I'm giving this a 3.5 star but rounding up to 4 because for $109 and free shipping, it's okay for the price.

i was disappointed with the quality of this bench. there is a lot of particle board painted brown(and a shoddy paint job at that), and overall i'd say it looks of very cheap construction. that said, it arrived in perfect condition and it was fairly easy to assemble (about 30 minutes), so it gets two stars. definitely would have sent it back if not for the $30 shipping fee.

Came in six pieces to be assembled. Literally every piece has some kind of damage - two end panels which should have been one piece - one was in two, the other was in three. Wooden pegs that guide assembly: at least one on every piece smashed. Whether or not they can fix it and send new pieces quickly doesn't matter much to me - for $150, it should be right to start with.

I LOVE this storage bench. We use it in our entrance way to store shoes. We've had it for almost two years and it still looks pretty good (not scratched up) and we have two children and a dog. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because the safety feature which is supposed to prevent the seats from slamming down does not work and stopped working after about 2 months of owning it. I really liked that feature and although it wasn't enough for me to fight to return it, I wish with two little kids that the feature had remained in action. I would buy this product again, though, if ever we were in need of another storage bench!

For the price, I think it would be hard to find a nicer storage bench. It was relatively easy to construct and complements the other furniture in the room. It holds a decent amount of things. I keep folded blankets, sheets and towels in it. Not sure how it would hold up with heavier items.
