2.0 out of 5 stars Restated from the internet, October 25, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Linux Encyclopedia (Paperback)
This book suffers from being outdated. This book seems to be a compilation of information that can be easily found on the net. Newbies should stay away. More mature users can use if they don't mind older information. It can be used as a quick reference without going to the internet but the book is not worth it's price. Put simply, there are better books than this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book a for a starter or the one who likes it on paper, April 24, 1997
By A Customer
This review is from: Linux Encyclopedia (Paperback)
This book is a compilation of almost all linux documentation from Linux Documentation Project. It's quite useful for a starter and IMHO it is much nicer to read HOWTO's on paper than on the screen. You can find almost all information you need here, but it's getting somewhat outdated, and some new features and changes are not covered.
