4.0 out of 5 stars Good overall Linux reference, April 10, 1999
This review is from: Linux Undercover: Linux Secrets as Revealed by the Linux Documentation Project (Hardcover)
I know the documents in the book are for free over the Net, but unless you have a lot of printer ink, its better to buy the book. Basically it touches everything you need to know to start Linux, and references to web sites and ftps.

4.0 out of 5 stars A handy reference guide, March 28, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Linux Undercover: Linux Secrets as Revealed by the Linux Documentation Project (Hardcover)
At first the 2000+ pages seem much, but Linux Undercove proved to be a handy reference. It is true all of the material is free on the net that is contained within, but it is sometimes nessessary to have information right at your fingertips. Invaluable to anyone running a Linux system.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not what i expected, March 20, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Linux Undercover: Linux Secrets as Revealed by the Linux Documentation Project (Hardcover)
When I bought this book I was expecting to have a book about linux, and not a collections of howto's that i could take from the net for free! But that was my fault, I should have informed better about the book. Anyway, it helped me a lot, it is a good book, I give only 1 star because you can get everything for free in the net!
