Still great for the next generation,

This review is from: Lion Adventure (Paperback)
I read all Willard Price's books as a kid and now am buying them for my 10 year old son. Lion Adventure is an engrossing book that allows a child to glimpse another lifestyle. The author's love of animals and knowledge of african wildlife shines through. I particularly loved the reference to the offspring of Elsa. This is the kind of book that encourages a lifetime love of nature and our precious animal resources. The edge of the seat pace keeps the kids enthralled and the characters of Hal and Roger are still cool guys. My son was determined to sink himself into his book and emerged just wanting more.

This is a great book in the series of Willard Price adventures. Not totally politically correct, but not insulting to different cultures either. In fact, this series is very educational about animals and peoples, across the planet. The lion adventure continues with the plan; educating readers about lions, Africa, flying in balloons, dealing with hungry elephants and hyenas, and the norms, values and customs of different African tribes. All in a book that my 10 year-old son really enjoys. And I enjoy reading it with him.

The main characters in this book are Hal and Roger Hunt. They are the sons of Mr.Hunt who takes animals alive from all over the world to keep in their zoo, and are on an exciting adventure to capture a man-eating lion. This lion has attacked many people in the past. The Hunts have already killed a female man-eating lioness who was just about to feed her two cubs the meat. Roger decided to keep the two cubs as pets and have to feed them milk every day. They go on exciting adventures and capture many animals.
