I like the color of the Trellis Yarn but I don't like the texture. It is a bit coarse. I would not use this yarn to make a scarf. It would be better if used to make a belt, for fringe, or for something that you would not wear against your skin. As far as crocheting with the yarn, it is a bit difficult because there are a lot of open loops and your hook may accidentally get caught up in.

Would I recommend this yarn? Probably not.

With large needles, this yarn knits into gorgeous, fast scarves. But beware -- once your friends see them, they'll all want one, too. What distinguishes this trellis yarn from some of the others is the size of the colored areas, and the wonderful way it catches and reflects light. It takes a little getting used to, as it's about half air so it's easy to split the yarn and mess up stitches at first, but after a while I got the knack of it. I'm pretty sure lion has discontinued this type of yarn, so if you like it, buy it soon!

My mother-in-law knitted me the most beautiful shawl with this yarn. It wasn't until I asked for another one in a different color that I found out that Lion Brand no longer makes this yarn. I was thankful to find enough on Amazon for a second shawl. I wish there had been three balls of the "champagne" color.
