In addition to her writing, editing, and designing, Shannon Okey also owns an online shop that sells artisan-made items and has appeared on several television shows, including Crafters Coast to Coast, Uncommon Threads, and Knitty Gritty. Shannon lives in Cleveland, Ohio, where she coordinates the local branch of the national craft show Bazaar Bizarre.

Shannon Okey is a designer and the author, co-author or editor of many fiber arts-related books, including Knitgrrl, Knitgrrl 2, The Knitgrrl Guide to Professional Knitwear Design, Spin to Knit, Felt Frenzy, Crochet Style, Just Socks, Just Gifts, AlterNation, The Pillow Book, How to Knit in the Woods, the second edition of Knitting For Dummies and Alt Fiber. She is currently working on a number of new publishing projects.

Okey is the former editor of UK-based monthly knitting magazine Yarn Forward, and also wrote a column for knit.1 magazine. She owns Knitgrrl Studio, a workshop/studio space in Cleveland, has appeared on several crafty TV shows, including Knitty Gritty, Uncommon Threads, Crafters Coast To Coast and Knitting Daily TV. First, let me admit up front: I am a contributor to this book. The editor, Shannon Okey, has collected such a remarkable range of projects that readers are likely to find many that catch their fancy. From dog sweaters and a cat bed to beaded jewelry, hats to unique dishcloths, bags to mittens, readers will find something special to make for loved ones or to keep for themselves. Skill levels vary, providing challenge or ease as required.
