It's missing something.,

This review is from: Sword of Omens Lion-O's Thundercats TV Cartoon Blade Replica with Sheath (Misc.)
A SHEATH? Like a normal sword? The Sword of Omans either rested in a shrine-like room in their home base, or was carried in the Claw-Sheild. Like the others before me said, the Eye of Thundera is just wrong, sideways with 'roar' lines. At least they didn't use a hologram sticker that changed from the Eye to the symbol.
When I first saw this in the tiny thumbnail picture my heart skipped a beat. Wheee, I thought, that's great! But then I saw it. It's... well, crap. Everyone who reviewed it is right.

Major Cosmetic Problems; Did they even watch the TV SHOW?,

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees the discrpancies here. First of all, I can see that if anything this is a hong kong knock off of a design that might have tried to make it to it's final stage as an actual marketed product. Things like this happen all the time overseas, and they are shipped over here just to make the money spent to mass produce it, back.
For those who may still be confused as to how this differs from what would be considered authentic, here's a list: -The "Eye of Thundera" is way off. It's not supposed to be an oval, much less a slughtly raised bump above the hilt. It's supposed to be a circle that actually looks like someone stuck and orb or sphereical gem into the hilt. Think a raquetball sized gem. Also, the Cat's head shouldn't be facing down the length of the blade. It is supposed to be parralel with the hand guard. And those Wavy lines...Who's Idea was that anyway? - The handguard is way too small. if looking in scale to how Lion-O used to hold the sword, it was supposed to be much wider, as well as posessing much finer detail and sharper edges. Not as in "it'll cut you" sharper, but better defined. This looks like they used a 5th or 6th generation of a mold to pull the finished product. Also there is some gold filligree that should be present to accent the engravings. - The handle is the second worst part. I was actually able to hold one of these things at my local sword shop, and the handle felt all malformed. It was too bulbous at the center, and felt flattened out rather than cylindrical. The length of it is also a problem. Becuase it is so short, it is nigh on impossbile to hold this thing upright. It ends up being a one handed sword, when it authentically should be a hand and a half. It could be a one handed sword, but the amount of weight above the handle makes it impossible. Also the pommel is very generic looking and the engraving in it also lookes like a 6th generation mold pull. -The last blasphemy with this product, is the length of the blade. It is wayyyyyyyyyy too long, as well as dis-proprtionate to the rest of the sword. It ends up being Well over 36" long, and that is minus the hilt. The sword in all is about 4.5 Feet long, rather than a more realistic 3 to 3.5 feet. The blade also (from real life inspection) is too thin. It should be wider at the base and then probably only extend about 25 inches from the hilt (that is if they altered the hilt to make it the right size). All in all: this thing is a piece of imported junk. And I'mnot surprised that something that is all metal is only selling to about $35. They'd be lucky if I let them pay me to take it off their hands, but as it stands it's the only mass produced metal sword made for the series. If you want to ahve an accurate one though, you may have to go through custom channels to get an authentic product. but at least you won't feel like you've wasted your money. Don't buy it, you'll only be sorry you did. ~JYH

My two cents,

The eye of thundera is so completely off... here's my theory. This sword was made by same cheap knock off company who wanted a thundera-like sword, without buying licenses to have the real logo. Probably had a blue oval shaped jewel in the middle. Then someone else came along and said "wow that looks just like the thundercats sword!" So they bought the swords.. then realizing the jewel is supposed to be round not oval.... "ok let's stick the cat's head in ... um and make roaring/bad breath lines to make it look like we meant it to be oval shaped for that reason" and there you have it... near garbage. I wont give it 1 star just because it looks pretty good aside from the most important part. I wonder if this can be modified with a little effort. I might buy one and try.
