This is an ok set. At the time of this review Toys R Us has it for $60 and marketplace sellers are asking more than twice that. Not sure what that's all about but the retail price of this set is $60. The quality of the trains is ok but not as good as the Brio PE trains. I'm not big into the "cut-out" figures. I like the Brio figures, they are articulated & you can pose them, etc. The brio christmas tree is much more fun. The buildings are cool for cutouts though and I like them better than the ones that come with the brio set. The layout that comes with the set doesn't fit on a standard Thomas Train table for what that's worth. The tunnel connection configuration & long bridge don't allow much flexibility in deviating from the layout shown on the box.

My son received this train set as a gift for Christmas in 2008. It is now Jan 2010 and he still loves setting it up and playing with it. He is a huge Polar Express fan and will take the train with him every chance he gets. The train still works wonderfully!
