I am not reviewing the music here, i think its been reviewed well enough by others. I will say that I prefer Lion's Share to Jack The Toad, but both are good and you really can't go wrong with Savoy Brown. I am reviewing to comment on the absolutely superb sound quality of these albums. This reissue series sounds fantastic!! Whether in my good, expensive Sony headphones or in my crappy car stereo, these CD's have GREAT sound quality. So if you are wondering whether it is worth it to get the remastered editions, I say it is!! Good stuff, and very highly recommended!

Jack The Toad-A Masterpiece!,

Lion's Share was the last album that featured Dave Walker on vocals; his departure, and the arrival of Jackie Lynton on vocals, radically changed the sound and direction of Savoy Brown. They went from a somewhat laid back blues-rock to a blues-rock-party-pub band, that the enthusiasm just sprang from the grooves of Jack The Toad. One of the greatest albums by Savoy Brown; unfortunately, like the band itself, it was ignored by mass radio and most have never had the pleasure of the great songwriting, singing and music contained on this disc! Jack The Toad, along with Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" and Led Zeppelin's "Houses of the Holy" made the summer of 1973 a very magical one that will never be repeated!

Jack the Toad is underrated,

I know I am in the minority here, but I think "Jack the Toad", is a very UNDERRATED album. Is it as good as "Lions Share" or "Street Corner Talking"? No it isn't, but I am here to tell you there are some very good songs on here. "Coming Down Your Way", and "Just Cause You Got the Blues" are two standouts. The title track is pretty lame I will admit. "Casting My Spell" is also very good. They have had better albums than this but they have also had much, much, worse.
