Not very "shaping", July 15, 2011
I actually bought this for a different reason than most people--I have a medical condition where one of the treatments is to wear compression garments, and I absolutely refuse to wear an abdominal binder, so my doctor told me to check into things like this. For that purpose it works wonderfully. I of course was hoping it would be "shaping" as well. I'm not very overweight or anything, but I do have the typical love handles, along with a bit of bloating and extra water weight at certain times of the month. It did nothing to hide these issues, and actually made me more conscious of them throughout the day. It's also kind of difficult to get on, but I suppose it has to be to achieve its intended purpose. Take the advice on the little leaflet that comes with it and step into it--you will never make it if you try to get it over your head. It's easiest to step into it before you have any pants on. Also, it's best to adjust the straps before you put it on, unless you have someone who can adjust the straps for you. You just about have to be a contortionist to reach them once you're wearing it. Overall, it works well for what I bought it for, but I was disappointed that it wasn't more "shaping."
