Made in Thailand, the toy chest features durable beech wood construction. A nontoxic pecan finish enhances the toy chest's veneer and protects from splinters. This chest is proof that there is no way to get off cheap, when looking for a place to store your children's toys. While there may be some actual real wood on this thing, most of it is pressboard or other poor product. The hinges are held in by small screws, two of which have already fallen out of their pre-drilled threads. We had to replace them with larger screws. I doubt these will hold, either, as the wood is of poor quality. As for fitting--the cover is askew and impossible to align properly because it is predrilled. My advice is to spend a little more. You'll be happy you did. It would have been nice to keep this for another use, but the minute he outgrows it, we'll use it for firewood.

I bought this toy chest for my twin granddaughters. I have it in my house so they can have something to put their toys in.
What I like about it is that it fits lots of toys and when I open it the cover does not fall down. It is made well. I'm very happy with it.

This is a decent mid-sized toy chest. Nothing special. You get a little storage for a little money. The safety hinges work well. Mine has a slightly warped top that doesn't sit completely flat when closed. The vent holes (for hide-and-seek) on the back are silly, since there's a long cut-out under the lid to help kids avoid pinched fingers, which in itself is a nice feature. Overall, if you need some extra storage in a child's room and aren't looking to win any interior design competitions, this chest will suit you fine.
