Lipper International Bamboo Tea Storage Box

I thought this was the perfect solution to tidying up my kitchen counter, but was sadly disappointed when the product arrived. Three of the four screws that attached the hinges to the box were pulled out and could not be screwed back in (the holes were too large). And the compartments are indeed too small for all but one brand of tea bags that I use. Overall, the box did not seem very well made and I ended up sending it back for a refund, which Amazon promptly provided.

I was pleased with this product. It is attractive, compact and well-constructed. The only thing I don't like is that some tea bags today are too big for the compartments. I have to cut the packets down to get them in.

I have purchased two of these so far for tea storage and will be purchasing a few more to store various odds-n-ends. They are well-made and seem very sturdy. Stash, Tazo, Bigelow, Numi, and Celestial Seasonings teabags fit easily in the compartments, with room for 8 to 10 teabags per compartment. Tea Forte pyramids also fit (4 pyramids per compartment) Interestingly, on one of my boxes the dividers come out and on the other one they don't.

After searching far and wide for a tea bag organizer I chose this one because it is made out of renewable bamboo. I have a huge assortment of tea bags, which I prefer over loose teas. Immediately upon receipt I organized my tea bags with medicinal and herbal teas in one, and various green, white, oolong, and jasmine teas in the other. I was able to get most of my tea bags to fit, but it is a squeeze for the extra tall chai tea bag pouches. I put the paper wrapped tea bags in the back, and the slightly larger foil wrapped tea bags in the front when they didn't fit. I like the organizers and plan to buy another one soon. They stack nicely on my kitchen shelving and add to the feng shui.

I ordered two. One came with a crack in the lid and the other a different color wood stain (or maybe it was glue?) was used on the inside back wall of the box. They were both very poor quality although nice looking.

It's super. I've been looking for a tea box for a long time and I like it a lot. I only wish it had a latch. Also, the little chain is kinda lame.

It works, but the hinges are not the best quality and I have had to tighten them a couple of times. It's useful if you keep many types of tea on hand and the tea bags are individually wrapped. Unfortunately, many teas are not nowadays. You have to buy the appropriate brands to enjoy this.

I wanted to get a tea chest (or "storage box") for when we have guests and we want to offer tea to them. Originally, a shelf in our pantry was just overflowing with different types of teas, and I couldn't take the disorder any longer. The shelf also wasn't very guest-friendly.

So I bought this box to organize the tea bags and make them more accessible. The tea box was perfect! It's a great price, it fits most of my teas with its 8 large storage sections, it looks great when guests come over, and it has free shipping from Amazon. It doesn't get better than that.

However, we did have a problem when my husband discovered that the chest was damaged on the bottom after receiving it. So I sadly returned it online. Thankfully Amazon was more than gracious about the return and sent me another brand new box with free one-day shipping. This one received approval from the husband and has been actively used since. Amazon's excellent customer service made up for any disappointment or frustration from the first broken box.

The only change I would make to the box is adding a clasp to the front so that it closes completely with all of the teas inside, as sometimes it remains a crack open (because we over-stuff it).

In sum, my husband and I love this product and definitely recommend it.

The box is a perfect size and shape for individually wrapped tea bags. I like it and it helped me clean out the many tea boxes in my pantry. I had to send 2 back however because there were small dings and a small stained over crack in the first 2 I recieved. The others were keepers but only 1 was perfect. I ordered and kept 3 in all for myself and gifts. For me it was worth the hassle.

I bought the previous design of this box with the chain to secure the lid which makes the last cubby on the back left useless since the chain goes there. I found that Tazo, Stash and Celestial teas fit in the cubbies tight but they fit. If I stored tea that were not sealed in packages, but just in mesh bags, the tea took on the smell and flavor of the wood. I ruined several tea bags learning this lesson. I will have to buy a clear tea box for the tea only in the mesh bags which doesn't look as pretty but at least the tea will taste right.
