Customer Reviews

I would highly recommend this book for NCLEX study-ers and nursing students, too.

I have used this book to help me study for my exams and I have found it very helpful with the answer rationales and the types of questions that are asked.
Allison
I used both to prepare for the NCLEX, and I am absolutely convinced that these two books helped me to pass.

I passed NCLEX in 75 questions

I wasn't really concerned that I wouldn't, but this book was an excellent study tool that I wish I would have even done as a student if I had the motivation. Excellent lessons and concepts are presented in this book through high quality questions. Excellent, thorough rational as well. I only disagreed with a few, and there were minimal errors throughout the book (unlike other books I used to study). I would highly recommend this book for NCLEX study-ers and nursing students, too.

A little bit about myself to help calm nerves and possibly gauge your likelihood of passing (I know I would have appreciated this when I was reading book reviews). I graduated with my BSN in May 2012 with a 3.67 GPA, and I had my RN job lined up on an Oncology/Hospice unit the February before I graduated. I wasn't even going to study for the NCLEX, but became nervous when my many overdramatic nursing peers (even the smart ones) started signing up for KAPLAN and buying thick study books and material. I was confident that I didn't need KAPLAN, and I heard from my peers who took it that it was a waste of time (only benefit was the online test questions). In the end, I was glad I got a little nervous and studied. I think I could have passed without studying (maybe not as quick as 75 questions), but I would have been a nervous wreck without the confidence studying gave me.

My study recommendations:
1. Focus on doing practice questions (I used a combination of the NCLEX style questions from my nursing textbooks at the end of chapters, CDs that came with NCLEX study books I bought, question only NCLEX specific study books, and some online KAPLAN tests that my friend didn't use so she gave me her password for me to do them)
2.

I have quite a collection of NCLEX review books and I must say that this is one of the best. I like the layout. The questions are in a section and then the rationales are behind each section with the edges of the paper in different colors so they are easier to find. The only change I would make is to the companion CD which doesn't allow you to chose what kind of questions you would like to practice with category wise, it is just broad based questions that can come from any NCLEX topic.

This is a great resource to prepare for nursing school exams, and I'm sure it will help me with the NCLEX when I graduate! A must have for anyone in nursing school. The book breaks down each section so you can study what you need to know for an exam, not an entire section worth of questions.

I bought 3 different study guides and this one was BY FAR the best. in fact I think I would have failed the NCLEX if I had just used my other study guides and not bought this one. the study topics are broken down in such a smart way; you will get plenty of different questions on each topic that you will breeze through the NCLEX test. it helped me PASS just this May!!!
but give yourself time to study because there are a TON of questions and you will need almost a month to get through this whole book and absorb all of the material.
GREAT BUY

This book has really challenging NCLEX questions with easy to follow explanations for each question. I'm spending much more time using this Q&A book more than the review book that I also bought. I highly recommend this book. Lippincott's Q&A Review for NCLEX-RN® (Lippincott's Review for Nclex-Rn)

I have just about every NCLEX book out there. Having just taken the NCLEX, I can say that out of all my other NCLEX books, these questions most closely resemble actual NCLEX questions: They are application type questions and really strengthen your analytical abilities.

I've used Saunder's study question book and this one is much better as far as layout goes. the answers to the questions are at the end of each chapter rather than right below the question. the book offers questions grouped in sections (endocrine, cardiac, etc) as well rather than completely at random like the Saunders book. The only way this book is inferior to Saunders is in the rationales. They aren't as clear or thorough, but most of the time get the job done.

Excellent review for NCLEX. I have used six books of this nature, and Lippincotts is by far the best. Questions are very challenging, with several correct answers for each, but the MOST correct is the proper choice. Good rational answers with logical background info. Alternate correct answers are identified, with reasons why they are not the best answer. As an added comment, I took my NCLEX in Feb and passed easily.
