This series of books is very helpful and full of information that the huge textbooks have but very condensed. Great to make additional notes in the margins that the textbook deems is necessary information to acquire.

Lippincott's Review Series: Maternal-Newborn Nursing
Although not as detailed as the other textbooks, the content is well-organized and well-described. It's great as a supplement textbook.

The idea is good for the layout but that's the only positive I could find.

Page 4 Table 1-2 is incorrect. Neonatal death rate is the # of deaths occurring between birth and 28 days and Perinatal death rate is the sum of the fetal and neonate death rate.

Page 26, question 3: Which of the following breast structures is responsible for milk production. 1)Acini cells 2)Areola 3)Lactiferous ducts 4)Nipple . I chose #1 but the answer key says the correct answer is #4. Come on...

Question 12 on the same page involves more than one correct answer but the question never said to circle all the correct answers.

I didn't go any further in the book. 3 strikes your out.

The material in this book regarding breastfeeding is down right horrible. Nursing mothers and babies deserve practicioners that have more knowledge about breastmilk and breastfeeding that is factual. The advantages and disadvantages listed comparing bottle feeding to breastfeeding is ridiculous, subjective and contradictory. If you are studying to work with new moms or newborns, please research this subject matter to enable you to give the best information to your clients.

Excellent nursing supplemental reading, the questions are very important to study, Many of the questions in the book could be on the nursing classroom exams. The rationale are very important to know which are included.
