Lippmann Nail Polish - PRELUDE TO A KISS

I love to have fun with color on my toenails & wear everything from deep sparkly plum to bright coral. But on my fingernails, I like to keep them neutral because I work in a fairly conservative office. Not only that, but I don't have the best fingernails in the world, and wild colors tend to look strange on my small, short nails. I have very thin hands, my nails peel if I don't keep them trimmed weekly & my nails don't grow long, so something quiet like this is wonderful. It is very similar to "Sarah Smile", also from Lippmann. It is a very light pink w/ a hint of milkiness to it. The color on my computer screen is a little more cool & lavender than the color really is- trust me, there's no hint of lavender to it. No shimmer, no glitter, and it makes my hands look very neat and professional. After taking off my old polish & washing my hands to make sure my nails are clean and dry, I then push back my cuticles with a stainless steel cuticle pusher. I start with a coat of Seche Clear Base Coat. I apply two coats of this polish, then finish it off with Seche Clear Top Coat. I make sure to allow plenty of time between coats of drying time. My manicure lasts for approximately a week with one to two touch-ups of color (2-4 days after initial application) and one touch-up of top coat (approx. 3-5 days after inital application). After seven days, the coats of polish have gotten fairly thick and it's time to trim & file my nails anyway. Occasionally I want something with a little more "pop" for my fingernails, but this is my day-to-day color. If you're into French manicures, this is a beautiful base color for that. You could always add a coat of a shimmering or glitter-filled polish to mix it up a bit.

FYI- I use Neutrogena's Norwegian Formula Hand Cream (which is a bit greasy, but it works so well) at night to keep my hands smooth & soft. The Fast Absorbing version is great during the day, since it isn't as thick & creamy, but still does a great job. I use a salt scrub once a week to shed dead skin cells- philosophy Pure Grace Hot Salt Scrub is my favorite. Manicures are much easier on hands, cuticles & nails that have been taken good care of every day.
