5.0 out of 5 stars Cuts through the grease buildup
I used Carbon Off to clean up a BBQ that had been used heavily for a number of years and then set idle for the past 3 years. Carbon Off did an amazing job of melting through the layers of build up, baked on grease. It took some scrubbing to get the more stubborn areas but all in all it worked as advertised. I'll keep some on hand for annual clean ups.

1.0 out of 5 stars Misled by product description--totally unusable and I feel cheated
Amazon's Product Description says: "Can be used on pots, pans, grills, chinese woks, popcorn kettles, *teflon*, glass, brick, waffle bakers, deep fryers, stove parts, broilers, rotisseries, roasting & sheet pans, all metal surfaces."

On the can, however, it says, "Do not use on (or place appliance to be cleaned on) Painted Surfaces, Plastics, Acrylics, Corian...

Product is worth every penny, cleaned my All-clad MC2 cookware that was covered with carbon burn. They went from dark brown back to the brushed aluminum color with minimal effort.

4.0 out of 5 stars Really Good Product for Cleaning the BBQ Grates, July 26, 2010

I have stainless steel BBQ grates that can get to a really high temperature, causing food residue to literally bake on. I can use a spray oven cleaner with fairly good results, but Carbon Off really goes deep. Occasionally, the grates will need a little extra liquid brushed on, but overall they come clean the first time. I keep the liquid on the grates about 2 to 3 hours. The instructions say wear eye protection and gloves. I accidentally got some liquid on my hand and it caused a chemical burn; so follow the directions exactly. For my needs, the product works as advertised.

Used Carbon off on a stainless steel grill that had a year's worth of baked on greased. This stuff was great.

On the can, however, it says, "Do not use on (or place appliance to be cleaned on) Painted Surfaces, Plastics, Acrylics, Corian Sinks and Counter Tops, Analon Surfaces, Calphalon or Teflon Non-Stick Pans."

I spent $20, including shipping, so I could clean Teflon broiler pans, after checking the product description. Fortunately, I read the can before using the product. I usually can trust Amazon, but not this time. Shame.
