4.0 out of 5 stars Works as advertised
Our neighborhood has the usual assortment of unattended dogs and cats and some of them had taken to using my flower bed as a rest room. My neighbor recommended this product and it really worked. 1.0 out of 5 stars dog anti-repellant
Perhaps my dog is just unique, but the "repellant" absolutely did not work. In fact, it attracted her even more to what we were trying to keep her away from! Sorry, but I can't recommend this product.

It smells like rotten eggs and garlic so spray from upwind and be prepared to change clothes and bathe immediately after use. I marked it down a star because I found that I had to apply more frequently than recommended to get the desired effect, and it's a little more expensive than I expected, but otherwise a great product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great against Weimaraners!, August 26, 2009
This review is from: Liquid Fence 129 Dog and Cat Repellent, 1-Quart Ready to Use (Lawn & Patio)
A woman moved in across the street from me who must be from the wilds of Maine or perhaps the wide open spaces of Texas where dogs (full grown Weimaraners--two of them!) are allowed to run free...and pee...whenever and wherever they wish.

Sense that doesn't sit well with me (or the burned to a crisp lily garden out in front of my house) I decided to gave Liquid Fence a try. It worked great! Too true, it smells terrible but hey!...The Weimaraner twins have the rest of the neighborhood at their `disposal'...(Yes, pun intended). Also, if I'm not mistaken the skunk smell that Liquid Fence is so infamous for is drifting across the street to her house! I couldn't be more pleased with Liquid Fence!

3.0 out of 5 stars So-so Cat repellant, October 15, 2008

This spray is hard to apply and the cats come back to sniff it before setttling down in the sprayed area. The only reason this is not rated worse is once the cats get this spray on them other cats won't have anything to do with them.

4.0 out of 5 stars time will tell, April 8, 2010

I think this product is going to prove to be a good buy. One application is supposed to be effective for a month. I am trying it in a city garden and I also sprayed some around a small area that gets constant dog traffic in NYC. The doorman reports that all the usual suspects now avoid the area. It's too soon to determine how long it holds up after repeated rain but so far so good. There is enough in one bottle for many applications on a small area. I like that it's all natural ingredients too. I could smell it through the box when it arrived.

2.0 out of 5 stars Did not work, September 28, 2010
This review is from: Liquid Fence 129 Dog and Cat Repellent, 1-Quart Ready to Use (Lawn & Patio)
I ordered this directly from the company and they shipped it REALLY fast - hence on extra star...but the product itself didn't work. I live in a townhouse and unfortunately I have some inconsiderate people who walk their little rat dogs in front of my house where they have taken to peeing - in fact I think they hold it all between their house and mine so they can dump it all out here. It got to the point that I had no grass left. I replanted all the grass and searched desperately for a way to protect it from these people and their dogs. I tried cayenne pepper and a mix of water and vinegar. Neither of those did much. When this came I was hopeful as this has a potent smell. I sprayed it all over the strip between the sidewalk and curb as well as the bottom 2 feet of the main part of my lawn. Unfortunately despite trying to keep an eye out for these people as often as I can I have noticed dog spots coming back from these little dogs. Once I saw one of the guys come by and his dog was heading right for place where my grass died before but my boyfriend was standing outside and he dragged it away - but it wanted to be where I had just sprayed this stuff. Then one morning I was coming back from a walk and another jerk had his 2 dogs peeing right where I had sprayed the night before. I wish this stuff worked. I would have been a customer for life! Oh well, next product please!

1.0 out of 5 stars Liquid Fence for dogs, September 18, 2010

I purchased this item in hopes of keeping our new puppy from getting into the flower beds. After using Liquid Fence, the garlic smell is horrific! It kept our puppy away from the sprayed areas but only kept her away for about 1 day. Then when we sprayed again, it also kept our friends and ourselves away. You can't stay outside in the backyard at all due to the strong garlic smell.

1.0 out of 5 stars Neighborhood cats attracted not repelled, February 5, 2012
This review is from: Liquid Fence 129 Dog and Cat Repellent, 1-Quart Ready to Use (Lawn & Patio)
We were desperate to get rid of the neighborhood cats playing on our porch and using our garden as a litter box. After soaking garden benches, porch and garden with this stuff, the cats all appeared as usual and seemed to be enjoying the area more than ever. For our neighborhood cats, this product was ineffective.

I bought this item in a local pet shop. Liquid Fence has a strong garlic odor. It works great. The product will wash away in rain. I wish it cost less. Very effective though.

1.0 out of 5 stars Does Not Work, August 31, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Liquid Fence 129 Dog and Cat Repellent, 1-Quart Ready to Use (Lawn & Patio)
I purchased this item because there has been a sudden increase of feral alley cats in my back alley, and the cats have started defecating heavily on my porch. This product does not work. I even used it in combination with the Repel II Dog & Cat Repellent, Granules, 2 lbs, but the cats continued to do about their business and chill on my porch. Neither product seems to work.
