It shames me to admit that I am afraid of bugs. I don't care if they bite, don't bite, or come equipped with free coupons for spa facials. I don't like them. I'm always the pain in the neck geek flailing at some gnat and ruining the picnic. I'm the one who demands that the moth must be OUT of the tent before I can go in. A spider in the house means I'm out the door and about to use up all my frequent flyer miles. I even hate ladybugs and step on them every chance I get. I don't care if they are in drag, they're still bugs. The reason I hate and fear them is that they love me. Any biting, stinging, crawling thing within a day's journey on those horrible little legs of theirs will seek me out. Flying things get in my hair, go up my nose, lodge in my eye lashes. I'm to bugs what a gum-chewing young waitress is to a seedy old traveling salesman. Fresh meat and irresistable. After five minutes outside, I have enough bug bite lumps and bumps to make the elephant man recoil in horror.
Anyway, having established that I am not your High Country Hiker, I still like to sit outside on a balmy evening, but that seems to be prime Bug Time. I use citronella candles, a yellow no-bug porch light, Japanese mosquito coils, and if I could get one, I'd have a bug sized nuclear missle at hand. No matter what, the bugs still come. Until now. I I have no idea what goes into Liquid Fence, and I don't care. It could be all those spent Uranium rods or whatever from the nuclear reactors. It's cool with me. This stuff just works and that is all I need to know. I can sit outside on warm, humid nights and no whirring, no biting (a grasshopper once took a chunk of meat out of my foot for no reason at all...I mean a real hunk!), no slithering, nada. If you do not wish to be the bugs' buffet on your next outdoor adventure, spray this stuff on. Even the odor isn't too disgusting (for bug spray). And there is a lovely added bonus. If you spray this directly on some biting/flying insect, it not only will not bite you, it will drop like a little stone to the ground...where those helpful ants and spiders are waiting for it. Then after they've done their dirty work, you can spray the ants and spiders. Good, better, best!

So far this product seems to be working. I literally coat myself in it and
because its natural I also spray some on my clothes too. I haven't been bitten since using it which is very impressive, as I'm usually a mosquito magnet. Another bonus is that it smells nice, and unlike the 99% Deet that I normally have to use it doesn't strip the colour off of my rubber flip flops!

Good for repelling Noseums,
By Carol (Virginia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Liquid Fence 141 Liquid Net The Ultimate Insect Repellent, 12-Ounce Pump Spray Bottle (Lawn & Patio)
My daughter and I visited Sanibel Island in Florida. I heard that there were insects there called Noseums that would bite you and leave terrible red bumps and welts. They are so tiny and fast that you don't know they are around. I looked for something to repel the Noseums and was told that Liquid Net would work. I bought each of us a bottle to take with us. My daughter didn't believe she needed a repellent because she didn't see any insects. I put it on my arms and legs when we went to the beach. Later that night when we came back to the hotel room my daughter's legs were covered with bites. By the time we headed home a couple of days later the bites were much worse looking. It took a long time for the redness and bumps to go away. I had no bites on my arms or legs. The next time she went to Florida alone my daughter took the Liquid Net and used it. She didn't get bites from the Noseums. We are going to Florida again next month and I am buying more Liquid Net to take along. I haven't used it for mosquitoes so I don't know about how it works for other insects. But, for the Noseums it seems to do a very good job.
