About the Author
Daniel J. Gagnon has been a practicing herbalist since 1976. Born in French Canada, he relocated to Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1979. There he furthered his studies in medical herbalism, pharmacognosy and related subjects at the Santa Fe College of Natural Medicine, The College of Santa Fe and the College of Pharmacy at the University of New Mexico.
His passion for helping others was born out of his own childhood health problems. His experience with conventional medical treatment motivated him to seek gentler, more soothing healing modalities, which ultimately put him on the path to becoming an herbalist. His goal is to educate both the public and medical professions about the practical, healing applications of herbal medicine.
Medical doctors, naturopaths, chiropractors and acupuncturists frequently call upon Daniel as an herbal consultant. He is the co-author of Breathe Free, a nutritional and herbal care book for the respiratory system; and the author of Healing Herbs for the Nervous System. He regularly teaches seminars and college credit classes on herbal therapeutics, both in the United States and Canada.

This is the best book I've found for clear and easy to understand herbal information. The way that it is organized is very easy to follow. The author has a great command of herbal medicine; making it easy for me to follow. It has become my herbal 'bible.' It clearly tells me which herbs to take for specific conditions. The best herb book around!
