NO RED blinking light!
roaeja
It was a little hard to see the blue led that indicates recording mode, and hard to tell if it was blinking or not, which indicates that you're recording.
Alex
Really great quality video, and I didn't realize that it captured noise.

My daughter wanted these for making ski videos. It is a bit bigger than typical ski goggles (sticking out more) but that didn't bother her despite her extreme fashion consciousness. She has used it now a couple of times on the slopes and successfully made some videos and snapshots. Quality is pretty good and the unit is unobtrusive. Download through USB cable to a Mac was simple.

Although it is designed to be used simply by pressing on one of two buttons on the front, it is still kind of awkward with gloves on--it can be a bit tricky to get it going. And we hit an unusual gotcha the first day: the battery fell out and vanished on the slopes somewhere. This is possible because the battery compartment door faces down, but I have to confess that it seems to snap tightly closed, so I am not quite sure what she did to pop it open. (we have since put a little piece of electrical tape over the front to keep it from popping open by surprise). You can get replacement batteries from some places online; Batteries Plus stores often carry a battery that works as a replacement (it shows up in their store inventory if a search is made on Liquid Image, I think--be sure it is really right).

An awesome camera that takes fantastic video the way you see it, not as a spectator.

Like the other reviewer, I bought the camera to film horse jumping and trail riding. It's unique and superior to GoPro in that it's view is at your eye level, so the camera is not looking off into the distant horizon when you are looking at, for instance, the jump right in front of you. Also, there is no need for a helmet or mounting hardware - all you need are the goggles.

It works and takes spectacular video (at first on my old PC, the fps seemed low, but on an up-to-date computer it's phenomenal!!) The fps is slightly higher than video from a Canon Powershot. It was able to take well over an hour of footage on the included battery, with the included 4gb micro disk. The maker also, with foresight and consideration, included an adapter for the micro disk to slip into a regular scan disk. The plug and play works instantly even on XP (if the system is up to date). And, the super wide angle really does record just about everything your eyes can see - removing the impression of a box or frame during playback.

The cons aren't too big - there is only one goggle size, and for a woman's smaller face, it felt like it was crushing my nose and cheekbones, which also made it uncomfortable to breathe. The goggles aren't that heavy, and I think if the size was smaller, it would be very comfortable. And the device compartments and controls feel cheap and easy to break. The on/off button and the video/camera toggle button feel very spongy, and I wasn't ever sure I was really quite pressing it until the camera beeped. The latch over the card and connector compartment is brittle plastic hinged to a slim metal bar that feels destined to snap off long before the camera dies.

QUICK SUMMARY:
I really wanted to like these goggles. They are stylish, not too expensive, and easy to operate. However, the technical issues with batteries and overheating are annoying. The outdated video quality is also a concern. I am going to return them.

FULL REVIEW:
When I first got the goggles I couldn't get them to turn on with the included battery (1200mAh). Even after charging overnight. Luckily I also ordered the 55 XSC 1150mAh battery (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004OOVK7U). That one worked.

When I first shot some video inside the house and was horrified. The fish eye effect was too much and video quality was terrible for HD. Photo quality was the worst. Everything was blurry. But my ski trip was next day so I had no other video choice and I gave them a try.

While on the slopes, they were mostly easy to operate. They felt good on my face and didn't fog up. There is an included yellow lense that was not difficult to swap in instead of the dark one.

The battery wasn't even half drained after shooting for about 40 minutes with them, so I was happy with the battery life. It's still a good idea to have an extra battery if you do a lot of long runs and you want the video running the whole time.

It was a little hard to see the blue led that indicates recording mode, and hard to tell if it was blinking or not, which indicates that you're recording. I had to raise my eyes all the way up to see it. The upside is that the led was out of my way while I was skiing.

The video quality on the slopes was surprisingly much better than inside the house. Fish eye didn't matter as much when the subjects are further away. White balance was a little bit off during playback, a little pinkish.

It was a 'da' factor...I couldn't get a previous glasses to charge, So, stupid me, I sent them back and ordered these. This time it work. The red light started flashing, indicating it was charging! Hooray!!

I unplugged the USB cable to try them on. I pushed the 'ON' button. Nothing happened? I pushed, again, still nothing. ??? I plugged the USB cable back in
to the charge port. NO RED blinking light! Did I damage it? Dead as a door nail.

Not another one, I thought? Then I spotted something curious? I got out my
flashlight and magnifying glass. Right underneath the USB port was a little round
hole, that only the end of a safety pin, would fit into. ???

Was that a RESET button?

I held by breath and pushed on it with the end of a very small jeweler screwdriver!

Everything started working again!!!! Hooray!! THis is going to be one of those
nasty devices, you have to reset when it stops working.

I turned it on, waiting for the blue light to start blinking and walked around
outside. What a picture!! 720 and clear as a bell. I'm happy now. I'm going
to order another pair of the inexpensive googles. The price is right. Da me.
