BRAINSTORM has been the prototype Metal Blade development story over the last few years. With the band's fourth release for the label, LIQUID MONSTER stands to be a European phenomenon, which will give the band solid footing to break through stateside. Tirelessly embarking on lengthy European tours with the likes of EDGUY, Morgana Lefay, Solitude Aeternus, Skyclad and Nocturnal Rites to mention a few, has built a massive following throughout Europe. BRAINSTORM, in 2003 and 2004 performed at the biggest European and American metal festivals, including Sweden Rock, ProgPower in the USA, and the Wacken Open Air in Germany. I've heard of this band before, so last week I decided to check em out. Woooooooow! These guys really do bring the power metal hard! And, you know what, to the reviewer below me, I don't know why you even reviewed this CD. These guys don't even sound that Goth to me. Besides, I never like to be technical about everything, I just like mostly everything. Anyways...this CD is awesome, sounds a lot like Demons & Wizards, except most of these songs are fast! I also got Metus Mortis, which is another great album by them, you should check it out! So, basically, if you like Demons & Wizards, then you'll definitely like Brainstorm! My favorite song out of this whole album is Worlds Are Comin' Through.

Brainstorm's Liquid Monster album can easily be deemed as one of the year's best albums to date. It's got everything a great power metal album needs. The production is much more up to snuff than some of their material. The album is very heavy for power metal. They have an awesome and original vocalist (though there are times when he really belts out the words and souunds kind of like Bruce Dickinson). The lyrics aren't a load of crap. Some could be a bit better, but there aren't any grammatical errors. Overall, I would highly recommend it for 3 songs: "Worlds Are Coming Through," "All Those Words," and the blazingly fast "Lifeline." However, the whole album is worth it, and you just have to hear it to believe it.

Nice to hear a metal band with some speed and aggression without a high voice or too demonic a voice nowadays. Straight to the inner ear metal, great to finally pick something out of all the metal out there that isn't death or too keyboardish like soooo many others. Hard to compare to others maybe a little like Gamma Ray and Primal Fear but my favorites being Maiden, Priest, Pre black album Metallica, Iced Earth. I have just recieved this one so I'm not up on the lyrics yet just a quick run through of sound, pleased with purchase!
