Used this to tack down a garage door trim to the concrete to force a better seal. Worked like a charm.

5.0 out of 5 stars LIQUID Nails? Hard as nails, September 22, 2011
This review is from: Liquid Nails LN903 10-Ounce Heavy-Duty Liquid Nails Construction Adhesive (Tools & Home Improvement)
at least I hope so

out here in the desert seems like folks do their own construction, while the code guy's away.

In fact there is no code guy, even though we got county code

sometimes he might show up and red tape you, but a lot of building going on, now things are cooling down and before the cold comes in.

so, after taking a year or so off from the project, I'm trying to put the finish sheathing on the outside of the back porch here at the holy hermitage, just some 4x8OMB or whatever it is board, with the random chips all glued together, what passes for plywood sheathing nowadays they only have the shavings left to work with, on to the porch that looks out to Mexico, my only neighbor visible to the south, once you look past the graveyard . . .

anyway, can't get anyone local to lend a hand, and the only guy who said he would, a builder I really respect, included this product on his list of stuff he needed when I thought he MIGHT come help with enclosing the front porch.

He never made it back.

But today, finally, lifting that 4x8 sheathing vertically, in to place on to long beads of this product, and then nailing it into place, too, in the direct sun and plenty of warm, I started wondering whether it was okay to apply in the direct heat and plenty of warm, alone.

Got some on my fingers while wiping and daubing the excess that bled out. It came off later with a wash rag. Get some wash rags. I recommend 1888 Mills 100-Percent Organic Cotton Oversized Washcloth Set of 4, Earth Brown since you can't get Martha's anymore. Yeah. Use a washcloth, ok? Stuff came right off with a little warm water heated up on the stove and soap, and rubbing . . .

Don't want to get it in your eye, I guess.

Anyway, leaving that up overnight to cure, the liquid nails, to see if the direct sunlight and the heat did any damage.

From what I could read of the tiny print on the container, with reading glasses AND magnifying lens (you know, remember Grandma's? something like Carson 5" BigEye Magnifier) you get ten minutes wiggle room with this stuff, and that's about how long it took me to nail it up, including going to hook up another tube to the squeezer. Hope it doesn't all just turn to dust with the direct sun and the heat, but holds "longer than the project"

Hoping this porch looking out across the border into Mexico will outlast me, after all . . .
Make a nice little chapel for the hermitage here way out in the desert . . .
