5.0 out of 5 stars Ideal for postmenopausal women suffering from dyspareunia
I hit menopause four years ago and started having pain during intercourse. Then pain evolved into tearing of the fourchette (the "V" that is formed by the inner labia) and even tearing of the perineum. Intimacy became impossibly painful. My ObGyn prescribed KY Jelly (ineffectual because it dried too soon) and Vagifem, which gave me headaches. As (bad) luck would have it,...

1.0 out of 5 stars Beware contains Parabens.
The product sounds great from the descriptions and reviews, but after I ordered it I discovered that it contained Parabens. Parabens have been removed from many products because they are known estrogen mimics. I don't know about you, but I don't think that this is a healthy ingredient for a personal lubricant. Because of this, I've returned the product unopened. I think...

As (bad) luck would have it, my husband was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer right at that time. Because of the surgical complications and the chemo, he was exhausted for nearly 14 months. As a result, we had no sex. Last week, after he was done with chemo, I went for my annual pap smear and the dryness and tissular atrophy was so bad that my doctor had to use a pediatric speculum, and even that hurt like hell. He diagnosed me with secondary vaginismus and vulvodynia and suggested gradual dilation of the vagina, lubricants, and vaginal moisturizers. I did research at the Mayo Clinic web site, among other reputable sources, and came across Liquid Silk as a lubricant. It proved miraculous. Without having started using the prescribed vaginal dialators and vaginal moisturizers, we really longed for intimacy and used only Liquid Silk. There were no tissular tears and no pain. I will still go through the prescribed treatment plan with dialtion and moisturizers, but I will never again have sex without this fabulous lube. It restored our love life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best darn lube out there!, September 26, 2005
This review is from: Liquid Silk Personal Lubricant - 250 ml (Health and Beauty)
I have been using this lube non-stop since I first tried it! I work in an adult boutique and get free samples all the time but this is the ONLY lube I use. The feel and texture of it is so much more luxiourious than any other lubes. It never gets sticky or tacky like many others. I also love that it has no smell and if you happen to taste some, it doesn't ruin the mood with a nasty taste! The only downfall is that it does tend to dry out faster than most water based lubes but that is nothing in comparison to it's good qualities.

5.0 out of 5 stars Long lasting and natural feeling, August 9, 2006
This review is from: Liquid Silk Personal Lubricant - 250 ml (Health and Beauty)
When I first ordered this product I had no idea about any kind of lubes, just that water based was supposed to be the best. Now that I've used it many times, I can say that it works great and I wouldn't use anything else! My husband loves it too! It really is long lasting and natural feeling. Wonderful help for intimate moments, and it won't harm toys.

I recently read other great reviews about Liquid Silk in a few woman's magazines, and they recommend it above any other lubricant.

Try it...you won't be disappointed!

I absolutely love this product. I've tried other glycerin-free brands and have been frustrated by how quickly they dry out. This is the energizer bunny of lubes . . . it keeps going and going. I especially love the creamy consistency and find that it really does a great job at moisturizing and lubricating. Two thumbs up. My only regret is that it isn't readily available in many stores; only two that I know of in NYC, and must be ordered online.

Liquid Silk Personal Lubricant 250 ml Pump BottleLiguid Silk is the best lubricant that my husband and I have tried. As I am menapausal now, having sex was becoming painful, or "sticky" at best. I guess the vitamin E componant in Liguid Silk is the magic ingredient. Coming to orgasm is now a more regular thing, thanks to the continous slipperyness of this product during love-making sessions. They really stand by their motto that is printed on the bottle...We have perfected the art of bringing people together, and reducing friction in relationships....well said!

When this product is Paraben free, I'll reconsider it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Liquid Silk Personal Lubricant by Bodywise Ltd, January 27, 2009

I purchased through Amazon.com both of Bodywise Ltd's top-selling water-based lubricants - Liquid Silk and Maximus. I wanted to see if they really were less prone than Astroglide to drying out and becoming sticky. Both products are amazing. Actually, they're almost too good, because if you apply even just a few drops more than absolutely needed the activity becomes virtually frictionless; and, some amount of friction is always necessary. For water-based products, their endurance is great - at least 30 minutes without any need for re-application. The feel and performance of both Liquid Silk and Maximus are identical, the only difference being that Maximus contains no glycerin - a huge plus if the user happens easily to get UTIs. The only downside is that both Liquid Silk and Maximus contain glycol and parabens. So if either of those ingredients cause you any problems and you prefer a water-based lubricant, then your best bet will likely be one of the carrageenan-based products made by Oceanus Naturals and marketed by DreamBrands. I don't think they're yet sold through Amazon.com but hopefully that will change soon.Liquid Silk Lubricant 250 ml (8.45 oz) Pump Bottle

5.0 out of 5 stars In my quest for a perfect lube - this is the winner., May 20, 2010

I have been using lube for years. Usually I will purchase what's on the shelf at my local store, but I've never been totally happy with my selections. There is usually something that just doesn't do it all for me. So, I went on a mission to search forums and reviwes to find the perfect lube. I ultimately decided on three new purchases. Liquid Silk, Slippery Stuff, and Wet Platinum. With so many options on the market, it made me ask myself, where do I start? Lube is a very subjective product. Some may like a thick lube, while others perfer something a bit more water-like. I tend to lead towards the latter. My requirements for a perfect lube are: easy to apply, easy to remove, does not dry up quickly, minimal reapplication, effective slipperyness, does not contribute to yeast infections, non-staining, bottle stays clean, and does not cause itchyness. Lots of things on my list, but I believe I can find that product - and I did. It was Liquid Silk.

I read somewhere in a review that said Liquid Silk is inconspicous enough that you could leave it on the nightstand and your guests would only think it's handcream. I couldn't say it better myself. This bottle looks like a fancy container of European handcream and we do leave it on our nightstand. The pump applicator is perfect. It dispenses just enough in your hand. The consistency is identical to handcream and at first I wondered if it would be slippery enough. It's perfect for vaginal and toy use and in a pinch it will work for the backdoor. There have been nights that we finish and when I get the towel, I just wipe up and go to sleep. As for easy cleanup, it doesn't get easier than this. It doesn't dry too easily, so reapplication is minimal. A drop of salvia every now and then will keep it going strong. This is the first lube I've ever used that isn't the typical greasy/sticky/nasty type of lube. It's certainly well researched and perfectly developed. I highly recommend it to someone that is looking to try something different and get away from the types I just decribed. It will be on our nightstand for years to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding for Anal Intercourse, November 25, 2004

I cannot recommend this highly enough. It lets you insert your penis into your lover's anus with tremendous ease. One caveat though: you want to make sure that this lube - ANY lube - is nice and warm. It can be a little uncumfortable if it's cold, as you might expect...unless you like it that way of course!

5.0 out of 5 stars Our Favorite, July 18, 2008
This review is from: Liquid Silk Personal Lubricant - 250 ml (Health and Beauty)
I am not naturally well-lubricated, so my husband and I rely on personal lubricants for pleasurable intimacy. This is my very favorite so far.

I am sensitive to many lubes I tried before (they gave me yeast infections), but this one has never presented me with any problems. It is also the best-feeling for penetrative sex. The only drawback is that it doesn't taste great. I still rate it 5-star. My sex-life would not be half as good without it.
