1: Yes it works. 2: It makes it hard for it to "rip" again. However, the container it's in, the cap may get stuck from the glue so you end up having to use a wrench to take it off. But I do find it funny how people complain about the "gooey mess", because it says on the product that you should use only 3 coats of it on one rip. I used two, and it didn't become that visible. Besides, I only glued the rip from the inside and not on the outside. I have no complaints about the product and how it works, but just the container. Overall, I might buy this again in the future.

Not for Leather Products,

I bought this because there is a small rip (about 2mm long) on my leather sofa. I don't think this product is good for leather because 1) the applicator is very big, about 1 inch wide, it's not ideal to repair small rips, 2) it turns glossy after it dries (not the shine that leather has), making the repair very apparent, and 3) the consistency of the liquid is more like melted plastic, making it difficult to apply precisely with the fat applicator.
However, I think this would be a great product if you're using it to repair other household items that don't care for eye appeal (outdoor patio umbrella, etc).

Had a leak in one of the drain boots for the MR2 convertible top. Toyota wanted to take several days pay away to fix it. Used this stuff, along with some strong clothes pins to hold the seam in place. Everything is happy again!

I bought this to repair our leather couch, specifically two tears from our beloved Fido (real name of dog withheld to protect identity). To be honest, I bought this because it was inexpensive and might work without throwing fifty dollars at something else.
It worked great! I am surprised how it held the tear together and looks pretty seemless. I am very happy with the results. The only drawback is that it leaves a mild shine to the spot. The stuff smells like rubber cement and you do not want to do this in a tiny enclosed space. Overall, I am very, very happy with the results. An excellent value for the price.

Ruined my chair,

I bought this to repair a few slight kitty scratches in the arm of my cream colored vinyl/leather chair. I followed directions exactly. I did note that it made the place shiny, and actually more visible, as one reviewer noted. But that was okay. What happened was that more cracks began to appear around the repair area. Huge ones that grew into a mess ten times worse than I had before. Then the vinyl actually began to curl and peel away. It was like watching a sci-fi film---the chair-eating bacteria. So what started out as a few minor scratches ended up as a 6-inch unrepairable disaster. We had to buy a new chair.

I purchased this product to repair a tear in a leather vehicle seat. After applying several coats (as suggested) it is performing great. Time will tell the whole story...............

I got this to repair a recliner and it did not work well. The "grain paper" mentioned in the product description was not included, and worse, once you get the product it informs you in big black letters "Will not work on older, hard, or cracked vinyl." Be warned!

if you want a better and cheaper product, go to Michaels or Joanna store and ask for liquid stitch, they have smaller containers that are cheaper and a lot fresher. This product dried out on my after a month while being tightly locked.

Product repairs material very well, however, it is not invisible.
repaired an open seam on a motorcycle seat, the repair is visible because of the Liquid Stitch. It shows as a cloudy smear. |
