Just picked up one of these from Circuit City. I generally like to shop at Circuit City becase the service is a little bit better than the others. Of course you still need to have your credit card waving in your hand and dress well; otherwise, no one is going to ask you what you want.I was going to spend $500+ for a 17" 16ms LG from Best Buy but the LG was made in Mexico not in Korea. Sony looked really nice but it was made in China and it had 25ms instead of 16ms. Basically, I was out of selection. So, I took a look at the CRT but I didn't like any of them nor I was strong enough to put one of these 19" CRT in my car. I remembered that there were couple of LCD moniters (...) for $399. So, I headed to Circuit City and found this monitor on sale. I had never heard of LiquidVideo but this monitor looked pretty bright and sharp compared to the others on display in Circuit City. This was made in Taiwan. My good old Viewsonic was made in Taiwan and it lasted for 10 years without any problem. I though since there was only a number of companies who supplies the actual LCD screen to various companies to build the LCD monitors, the name brand was not important I guessed. And there was a (...) rebate and I could carry it to my car with ease, LiquidVideo it was. (...). I plugged this monitor and started my computer. It turned right on without any problem. It automatically adjusted the screen for my computer. Unliked my old CRT monitor that I needed to adjust this and that before I could use the monitor. The screen was bright and sharp. I checked for dead pixel and didn't find any. I then set the resolution to the native resolution (1240x1024) of the monitor. The screen got even better. (My resolution was 1024x768 before). The on-screen control was pretty good. The manual was well oraganized. I didn't have to scroll up and down liked in my ViewSonic. Ok... screen is good and sharp and bright, and there is no dead pixel. Can't ask for anything better for this price. The only weak point I think is the speakers. But at least it has a pair of speakers to save me some space on my desk. And I can get rid of couple wires under my desk. (...)

Great Monitor! Exceptional Value!,

I am a very meticulous consumer. At first I thought that I would purchase the Sony 17" flat panel due to brand-name recognition. I then viewed and compared at least 25 different flat-panel monitors, comparing the overall picture quality. The LiquidVideo monitor had the most vibrant color quality as well as the best overall picture quality of all that I viewed, therefore ending my shopping and decision-making process. Samsung was a close second. I also purchased the additional warranty from Circuit City which offers 4 years for $95. After purchasing the extended warranty, I was still at least $40 ahead of purchasing the Samsung. I am extremely pleased with this monitor! I give it a very enthusiastic "thumbs up"!

Cheap but great value,

Cheap (<$330 after Circuit City rebate) but superb picture quality, response time, light-weight but well built, and easy operation. Most other name brands are outrageously priced for same quality. 4-stars because the warranty is only 1 year and in-built speaker is not loud enough (for me). I know, I can't complain about the speakers when many name brand monitors don't have them at all. I use my old speakers. If you are cost conscious and you want a 17" LCD now and want to move on to 20+" LCD+TV later next year or so when they start pricing them right, this is the best option available now.

I wonder if the guy from Circuit City bought the extended warranty. I had a problem with another product and they gave me a voucher, no questions asked .. and I replaced the product. But if you dont buy the warranty .. and the company goes out of business, you are dead in the water.Regarding the monitor. I like it. It is not the greatest but for the money a good value.

The technical features and after rebate price of this monitor are very good when compared to similar generics. ....Pros: light weight, nice design, 400:1 contrast ratio, 16 ms response, 300 brightness. There's a web log that points to the monitor specifications, I don't remember the URL but you can find it by doing Yahoo search. The image is very nice, better than several brand name monitors. Also, good for DVD. Cons: Only 3 months warranty!!! I wouldn't consider buying it without the extended warranty from the retailer. That means adding $95 to the price tag in Circuit City (however, manufacturers don't offer something similar) The first monitor I took home, displayed a vertical white line on side after 5 or 6 hours of use. I've exchanged it, but a dead pixel showed up after 4 days of use. I've read that LCD monitors can normally have up to 8-10 dead pixels. At the full retail price ..., I recommend going for another monitor with similar characteristics and at least 1 year warranty. Good luck!

This monitor will not blow you away with jaw-dropping color, nor will its feature set or user interface particularly impress you. However, the unit had zero stuck pixels, and has a decent enough picture. At a measly three hundred after rebate, it does the job just fine.

I bought mine about 1-1/2 years ago and only paid about $230.00 for it at Circuit City. I have been very happy with it. I play music and my speakers seem just fine. For the money its been a really good product for me.
