Twisted over this Cajun Beauty!,
By Twisted (The Bay Area) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lisa Angelle (Audio CD)
Drop dead gorgous, proven hit songwriter, beautiful sulty voice and an exquisite lady thats Lisa Angelle in a nutshell. But "Twisted" is what Faith, Shania and the rest will be when they have to compete with this fine lady and her debut album.I have had a promo copy of this debut for over 8 months and I must say it only gets better as time goes on.I am sure most are familiar with her "Billboard Award" nominated video for "I Wear Your Love". The video that left every guy breathless thinking "Shania who?". Or her latest hit single/video "A Woman Gets Lonely". A song about some guy who must be a complete idiot to take her for granted. But those 2 singles are just the dessert for an 11 course meal that will leave you fully satisfied. The album kicks off with the uptempo "4,3,2,1". This will have you cranking your stereo up to 10! After "A Woman Gets Lonely" it moves into "Kiss This". (No this is not the Aaron Tippin song. Lisa wrote/co-wrote every song on this album.) This song should be every bit as big for Lisa as Aaron scored.Lisa really gets a chance to let her voice shine on a beautiful torch ballad "I Didn't Want To Know". Lisa puts every bit of emotion into this number. After that the album kicks into rock mode with "I Wear Your Love". Next Lisas voice gets another great opportunity to shine on "Sin" ("Sin It Would Be A Sin Not To Love You"). Things crank up again after that with the sure fire hit "Twisted".She gets serious after that with a "ripped from the headlines story" about a child protecting his mom and himself from his abusive father. "Daddy's Gun" ranks up their with Aerosmith's "Janie's Got A Gun". It would be nice to see Dreamworks release this very imporant song as a video and bring in Marty Callner (who directed JGAG for Aerosmith). To lighten things up after a very serious subject, it gets rockin again with "Midnight Rodeo". It depends on which way you interpret the lyrics on this one. I think most guys will be dreaming she means something other than what the song is "really" about. On the next to the last number she does a wonderful traditional torch country number that will have you thinking of Patsy Cline with a hint of Ms. Seelys "Don't Touch Me".Lisa finishes off the album with a nod to her "Christian Faith". This is my favorite track on the cd. I have not seen the album credits yet, but I wouldn't be surprised if Lisa used one of her local Southern Baptist Chuch choirs to provide backing vocals. While I enjoy Faith Hills latest single "There Will Come A Day" the sparrow is 10 times better. I only hope Lisa gets a chance to perform it on the CMA Awards in the future (like Faith did this year).I know I wrote the review from a "mans" perspective but ladies you won't be disappointed either. Lisa is the "real deal" She co-produced and co-wrote/wrote every track on the album. And best of all, she sounds as good live (or better) than she sounds on the cd. If you want an album full of "substance, heart and talent" then buy this album ASAP! You will not be disappointed!!

A Great CD,
By Melissa (Louisiana) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lisa Angelle (Audio CD)
Every once in a while there is an artist that comes along that can make a CD that is good from the first song to the last. Now these artist are far and few in between. Lisa Angelle's CD is one of those CD's. From the first track "4,3,2,1" she reaches out and grabs you and you have to listen. Then comes the second track "A Woman Gets Lonely" and one listen to this song you are a fan, because with this song you can understand why another artist had hits with the songs that she wrote for them. It is a well written song with great music. If you like artist like Shania Twain and Faith Hill. Then with songs like "Kiss This", "I Wear Your Love", "Twisted", and "Midnight Rodeo" you will not be disapionted. For all those that love a good ballad then there is "I Didn't Want To Know" and "Sin". If you are looking for one of those good ol' country songs well this CD has that too. The song is "I Don't Know Why" and when you listen to this you will be able to hear alittle bit of Pasty Cline influence in Lisa Angelle's voice. Next comes a song called "Daddy's Gun" and this song tells a true story with a kind of Sherly Crow groove to it. "Sparrow" is the last song on the CD and you know that saying "always save the best for last". Well, its true. This song is a gospel song and it seems to reflect the way Lisa looks at life in general and the way everyone else should probably look at life as well. This CD is a good one. If you like good music. Then this CD is a must have.

Lisa is finally in the Spotlight,
By Jenifer Jorstad (Ft Campbell KY) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lisa Angelle (Audio CD)
After years of standing in the shadows and writing for other great country music artists, Lisa has finally realized her dream and saved the best for herself. This album has something for everyone, a soulful love ballad, (A Woman gets lonely), a stirring gospel inspired "Sparrow", a sad story of child abuse and the damage it causes, and lets not forget the ROCKIN' country that gives Shania Twain a run for her money, "Twisted", "4,3,2,1", " I wear your Love". Get ready to be haunted by this album, it is addictive. Lisa is RED HOT and going places. Watch this star rise and SHINE!! Take care of YOU Lisa, we want to see you reach the TOP!
