My two year old son and I absolutely love this book and CD! Lisa's music is so fun and creative, it really is completely different from most of the music out there for kids. Kids imaginations should be challenged and delighted, which is exactly what Lisa does here. The illustrations in the book are a huge step up from most children's books as well- total eye candy and very modern! My son loves to sit and scan the page pointing out all of the cool little details to me. I know, I know, I'm totally gushing....but I really think this book is uber cool.

It's impossible not to smile while reading singer/songwriter/actress Lisa Loeb's Silly Sing-Along and listening to the accompanying CD, featuring 10 songs. Though not brand new, the book is clever, original and just as silly as its title promises. Between the ultra thick hard covers you'll find 24 pages of lyrics and cute illustrations by Ryan O'Rourke. Some of the tunes are familiar while others are original. Loeb performs all of the songs on the CD, many of which she wrote, and her voice is clear and animated. Background vocals are performed by children, encouraging readers to sing along at home. You'll love the way Loeb gives a background of each song in the book, sharing her childhood memories and silly tidbits. Kids will love reading while listening to the CD, and I promise parents will find the music soothing, rather than annoying, like some children's music. What a fun book to bring along on a long family car ride or just to listen to at home or even at a birthday party. Oh, and you'll get a real kick out of the lyrics for "The Disappointing Pancake."

I have a 7 year old and a 2 year old and they both LOVE this cd. The songs are so catchy and fun. I have to admit, it's one of MY favorite kid cds. The book is adorable too with whimsical illustrations and has the words for the songs. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Love it!

Some parents may remember Lisa Loeb from her hit song "Stay." Others may remember a reality show she did with Dweezil Zappa. Either way, it's great to see one of my favorite singers back with a delightful book and CD set that gets the toes tapping and is certain to please children and their parents.

Lisa Loeb's Silly Sing-Along: The Disappointing Pancake & Other Zany Songs is addicting. There are 10 songs in all and the book offers full lyrics so that children follow along with ease. Some songs even include dance/movement instructions that gets families up and moving around. Songs include:

Opposite Day
I'm a Little Coconut
The Disappointing Pancake
Fried Ham
Everybody Dreams
Chewing Gum
A Codi By Doze
The Banjo Song
Sipping Cider
Found a Peanut

Each song is catchy and really enjoyable, though my teenagers gave me a weird look as I listened and sang along with Lisa. Pay attention to some of the banjo playing because actor Steve Martin performs on one track.

Many pages include little stories from Lisa about the song and illustrations by Ryan O'Rourke present a fun, colorful look into the central theme of each song. All in all, there is a lot to love about Lisa Loeb's Silly Sing-Along. I highly recommend it.

I am a director of a daycare centre, and it is sometimes tricky to find really enjoyable music that both the children and staff enjoy. This CD is a treasure that we have been playing constantly since we received it. Very catchy and funny :)

Fun book and CD set that is full of silly songs like you used to sing at camp. I really loved her album she put out with Elizabeth Mitchell and this is more of the same fun music in a voice that doesn't grate on parent's nerves. Fun and silly music for kids and parents to share and enjoy and the book has lyrics, cute illustrations, games, hand motions and other fun stuff. My kids are 3 and they enjoyed it and my teenager enjoyed singing some of the familiar songs to them that he learned at camp and school. My only complaint is that the CD just isn't long enough.

I have had the book since I saw Lisa Loab perform Disappointing Pancake on Never Not Funny's Pardcast-a-thon, and had to have it. My son(3yr old), and I listen to it all the time. We just spent the last twenty minutes going through the book and singing all the songs without the CD. So fun to hear him sing "I wear ruffles on my ... Whoops, boys take another guess, I wear ruffles on my dress" He laughs at that every time.

This CD is great for kids and adults. Our family loves singing the chewing gum song... Even without the music on. Book is fun and beautiful as well.
