This is about 9 3/4" long, 7 3/4" not including the hex ends. The hex ends are 1/4" thick. I had thought with this offset wrench I could work on the bleeder without removing the tires, but it is still hit or miss depending on your vehicle make/model. On one of mines, I could but only on the front wheels, not the back, etc. Plus, I had to buy another because I thought I could easily use this for both Metric and English. It was my mistake, only one side of this is compatible for Metric, 5/16" ~ 8mm, 3/8" is too small to fit a 10mm.

This wrench does the job for opening bleeder valves. However, care must be taken to ensure the bleeder is not of metric size since tool is made for inch size bleeders. The handle length gives you the leverage you need to open and remove the old bleeder valve. it is a 6 point type wrench which is the best to have for small hex sizes since it prevent rounding of the hex corners. All around, it is a well made tool.

Six point head so you don't strip those stupid bleeder screws. Finish is decent, not show quality but it's a well made tool. Plenty long and good offset makes it a handy tool to have. Tip: on older cars, spray your bleeder valves with a little penetrating fluid a few minutes before starting the bleed process, makes accidental breaks much, much less likely.

Nice wrench and great value. 5/16" just happens to be close enough to 8mm to work on my Toyotas. Fairly long - while that's handy, be careful you don't over-tighten the bleeder.

I love it when a wrench fits the way it is supposed to fit. Snug with no play. I have used slightly less expensive bleeder wrenches, and then had to replace stripped bleed screws. The Lisle wrenches fit and you have enough room to put the bleed hose on. I paid less than $10 for it and it is worth every penny.

I have suffered the horrors of trying to "make due" with various wrenches during a brake bleeding job, and the outcomes were........messy, to say the least. This stupidly simple tool always seemed unnecessary until I gave it a shot, and now I feel dumb for waiting so long.

Durability: It is made by Lisle, and every tool I've ever purchased from them withstands abuse. However, since it's a specialty tool, its use is infrequent. I've stepped on it and it did not cry, so that counts for something, right?

Ergonomics: Not too long - not too short, it works! The leverage it offers greatly aides tightening with a few fingers while you hold the bottle with the rest of your hand, and keep the bleeder hose to the nipple with the other hand. For those of you who perform this kind of task, you'll be grateful. For those of you who just let the fluid vomit freely, you'll still like this tool.

Remember: American Made = Americans Paid

This wrench is good quality, but doesn't quite fit into the tight space where the bleeder valve is on my 1968 Chevy truck.
