Works as well or better than I expected,

This review is from: Lisle 21700 Wrinkle Band Ring Compressor (Automotive)
The wrinkle band style ring compressor was recommended to me because of the lower friction required to move the piston.
For this, the wrinkles work great. I've used a few other band over the years, but this one simply worked better. The bands made it easier to slide the piston along. The handle made clamping quick and easy, and the fine adjustment nut made for a very tight grip, so the rings were well compressed. The whole thing is super light compared to some of the compressors I've used, which is great when you have light pistons. A heavy bulky clamp on a light piston is awkward. 6 pistons into 6 cylinders in about 30 minutes. Only had to reset twice from the compressor lifting off of the cylinder face (user error, it happens with any compressor).

Best Tool Out There,

This review is from: Lisle 21700 Wrinkle Band Ring Compressor (Automotive)
I worked for 3 hours with a standard piston ring compressor and got no pistons installed. I got this one and I got the first 4 in the engine in about an hour. You do have to keep resetting the band so I would recommend marking it or counting out the position once you get it set on the first one. THis was my first engine build and I don't think I could have gotten it done without this tool.
