great for burping your radiator!,

I bought this because I recently had my radiator replaced by a small business mechanic my father knew. I get the car back, and a week later, my temperature gauge kept creeping up. I searched online to diagnose the problem myself, and came to the conclusion that there was air trapped in the cooling system. I tried burping it before without this product, and coolant just spilled all over my driveway, and there was still air trapped. After two failed attempts, I found this product and decided to give it a shot. After about 20 minutes of my car running at idle, SO MUCH AIR STARTED TO COME OUT. It was ridiculous. After two times doing it with this funnel (the first time I forgot to keep the heater on full blast) my cars temperature gauge stays right underneath the middle. I couldn't be happier. If you like to do things yourself, because idiots you pay can't do it right the first time, this should be a tool in your arsenal.

I had problems getting all the air out of my wife's Altima, but with this tool I was finally able to bleed the cooling system effectively. Basically, it's a big funnel that seals to the radiator. You fill it up half way or so and run the car with the heater on until the thermostat opens. Rev the motor a few times, wait for the all the bubbles to come out, and shut the car off. As it cools, the car will suck in the perfect amount of coolant from the funnel. Then you simply stick the plunger into the funnel to seal it, remove it from the radiator, and drain the extra coolant it back into the jug without spilling a drop! If you plan to drain the system more than once this tool is well worth the price. A perfect bleed every time!

Cheaper than a vacuum system... gets the job done.,

I used this on my G35 coupe. It really helped as just adding at the filler neck and bleeder is really diffuclt. This made the job MUCH easier. The high point becomes the funnel so you can really use the bleeder as it was intended to be used.
This item is great for people like me - I don't want to invest in a compressor/vacuum tool since I move alot, so this made the most sense to purchase. The only thing it lacked was directions. The metal caps are imbossed with letters that match the plastic adapters - a heads up for those who are thinking of ordering. It took me a while to figure that out. Worked great. No problems with leaks at the radiator while bleeding with this tool. Must have for Nissan/Infiniti owners.

I have a van that I drove for 3 years with little heat. It was not enough heat to thaw myself out if i was cold though. So I purchased the spill free funnel cause I suspected, air in the coolant system. So I used this product and now I can keep warm everywhere I go. I recommend anyone that suspects air in the coolant system should use this product.

I had borrowed this set from my fellow mechanic and I saw the utility of a product like this. You cant go wrong, plain and simple. A must have for mechanics or do it yourselfers. I bought mine off of the Snap-on truck, but Amazon has it for less. Save the money and buy it here.

I have had one of these at my shop for many years, it works perfectly and ends most problems with air trapped in the radiator. The only way to fill a radiator (except for one of the high dollar fancy machines)Lisle 24610 Spill-Free Funnel

I was having issues with cold starts after I replaced my timing belt and water pump, so I suspected that I had introduced air into the cooling system. I'd attempted to bleed the cooling system by way of the bleed screw, but it apparently didn't work well.
I decided to buy the Lisle Spill-Free funnel after I'd seen it in an online video, because it seemed like it was easy to use and it would solve my problem. I received the product yesterday, and it's exactly as advertised. The instructions were easy to follow, and it's not a poorly constructed or cheap product that you can only use once. I'm happy to report that after using the Spill-Free, my car now starts on the first crank.

This is a sturdy radiator funnel with a clever and flexible design, and eliminates the hassles of air bubbles trapped in a vehicle cooling system.
Note that the various yellow adapters are labeled A-D to match their respective caps. Pros: 1) Simple, clever design. 2) With just a little care, it is easy to avoid any spills. 3) Seems quite adaptable (works fine on our vehicles, including Toyota, Honda, Dodge & Mazda). 4) Good value, and actually made in the USA! Cons: 1) No instructions included IN the box (or at Lisle's site), but printed ON the box (see photos). 2) Quite a few loose parts, which are easy to misplace. Storing parts on the stopper helps, but this could be improved. |
