Not for VW/Audi,

I used a similar product on my 2004 Jetta Wagon and this tool doesn't fit the grooves at all. Too narrow for the VW piston. Tool could work with others, just not with VW products. Just FYI...

Cheapest method to compress rear disc brake calipers. Not as stable as other tools that have a clamp or other attachment, but gets the job done.

Without this tool, I would have not been able to push the piston back into the caliper on my X-type Jaguar. The piston has to be turned clockwise on the right side and counter clockwise on the left side of the rear Jaguar brakes. This tool has two stand-offs that align in the piston slots. Does not slip out of slots in piston. All in all, a great tool. made the job fast and easy.

I have access to a fully stocked automotive tool room but on this occasion wanted to fix the brakes in the driveway. Have seen the kits that have a separate piece for each disc brake piston configuration. This tool is compact and has all 6 on one cube. Attached the 3/8 ratchet and screwed the piston back into the caliper - it worked like a charm at about $10, this tool was a great investment.

dont buy this tool its a waste of money, get the KD [or similar, ATD?] set. i tried it on lots of calipers and the pins never quite line up with the slots on the pistons probably because the pins on the tool pretty much have to be spaced according to the dimensions of the cube shape of the tool and not the varied dimensions of the brake pistons.K-D Tools 41540 Rear Brake Caliper Kit

Specs:Item Weight: 4 Pounds Height: 31 millimeters Length: 10.5 centimeters Width: 9.2 centimeters A square shouldn't be a centimeter by three centimeters and I have a hard time believing this tiny product weighs a whole FOUR POUNDS! Other than that, for a basic piston tool, it should do the job. |
