There are different types of CV joint boot clamps and this tool is made for a removable hook and slot type. The tool is simple, sturdy, inexpensive, and relatively easy to use. It can be used to both remove and install the clamps. It makes the job much easier and faster.

Lisle used to be a brand we avoided, but in the last year we've purchased a few Lisle tools, and have been pleasantly surprised by the quality, and these pliers as well are a perfect match for the job they are designed for. Extremely durable, and if you have worked with the clamps these work on before, you may have had a few destroyed clamps trying to hook them up with a pair of vise grips or pliers. These pliers make the job so easy, we wished we'd gotten them long ago!
