Best socket holders ever,

I've tried a number of different methods for holding sockets: the tiny metal clips-on-bars, loose in small toolboxes, and the useless box that the socket set came in. These magnetic holders are by far the best solution: the sockets never fall out by mistake, the sockets are easy to grab with greasy hands, and you can replace the sockets with a single hand, almost by feel (important when your head is still under the car ;-). I use red trays for standard, and green for metric, and a complete set of 3 trays (1/4, 3/8, and 1/2) will fit nicely in a standard 26" tool chest drawer.

Out of a half dozen or so different socket organizers the Lisle suits my needs the best. The big tray type that sits in a drawer is not portable, ands like the block type, the sockets stand upright. These will only fit in the bottom few drawers of my roll-away. Most of the rail types require both hands to remove a socket. The Lisle socket organizer is both portable and easly fits in shallow drawers. Standard and deep sockets together and works with one hand. With two colors to choose from, I have my metric sets in green and SAE in red. The 1/4 and 3/8 inch organizers have a magnet on the back that keeps it from moving, the 1/2 inch does not. This is a sturdy well made product.

Works great. Would be nice if they would make labels or a version with labels, since my sockets are kind of hard to read. Also, don't drop this on the floor. My high school auto shop students demonstrated that a rack of 1/2" drive sockets weighs enough to crack the plastic. Darker colors are better if you have sockets that get greasy. The grease will not always come out of the plastic completely.
