Product Description

The universal wrench is designed to remove and install all inner tie rod sockets up to 1-31/64" regardless of the rod socket configuration. The wrench head has three set screws that tighten against the rounded tie rod socket or socket flats. Comes with a 1/4" short head hex wrench for tightening set screws in hard-to-reach areas. Use 1/2" drive. No-flat applications include: '00-'03 Dodge Neon, '00-'01 Plymouth Neon, and '01-'03 Dodge and Chrysler Minivans. Also fits some no-flat applications on Ford and Nissan.

This tool did not fit the inner tie rods my 2007 Ford Expedition so I had to send it back to Amazon. Good thing I checked first before I tore the car apart. Better measure your inner tie rod flats first before buying this tool. It might work ok on some cars, but I can tell you for a fact it will not fit a 2007 Expedition.

Update: I found that a small pipe wrench with a cheater pipe will spin the inner tie rods off a 2007 Expedition no problem. Use blue locktite on the threads and install the new one, no problem. Use a hose clamp for the boot. Replaced the inner and outer tie rods on both sides in about 4 hours, no problem, but it now needs a alignment, which I was going to have done anyway.

It is always something.

The product functioned as advertised, but was of obviously poor build quality. Light could be seen through one of the welds for example. The use of the allen wrench to tighten the tool down onto the inner tie rod was quite awkward as well. Since it is so cheap I think it is okay if you only plan on using it for a couple jobs, but if you want something to keep around, spend a few more dollars on a better tool.
