I got to use the Lisle 46750 today to replace all the "guts" of both rear drums on a 1999 Ford Ranger. The round end is used to remove the springs, and the narrow end is used to install them. I had no troubles using this tool & it worked perfectly where I had nothing but trouble with a standard pair of brake spring pliers.
FYI - The handle is RED, not black. Also, the round end is screwed onto the tool & you can only spin it clockwise or it will come off. This was no problem for me, and probably saved me from having the springs fly off the wrong way.
