Product Description

Engage the tube (line) with the black jaw. This sharpened jaw actually 'digs' into the tube to grip it. Squeeze and the hose is easily pushed off by the silver jaw.

Customer Reviews

They work great for removing small hoses and vacuum lines.

I had some doubts about this, but I'm happy to report it does work well.

Highly recommend this to anyone that works on their own cars.

I bought these to remove fuel lines from filter housings on outboard boat engines. If you have the space, these work really well, and don't damage the rubber of the line, or the fittings. However, you need a solid inch of clearance behind the fuel fitting if you need to use the smallest part of the piers (the plier's opening narrows as it gets closer to the handles). There are plenty of times when there simply isn't the clearance needed to use these pliers.

The construction is decent, not Snap-On quality, but you aren't paying S-O pricing either.

This tool was bought after reading a tool forum review. It came in handy while working on a 10 year old car, where plastic hose nipples are brittle and prone to breaking.

The tool works well and does the intended job.

Good value at $10. Useful for removing hoses, but also for other things, like holding 2 parts apart that are under tension. Not a professional mechanic. DIY auto repair.

The premise is great and for $10 I didn't know what to expect but it wasn't high even though it is USA made. Hoses aren't super precision deals but I expected that the jaws would close flat. Sadly, the ones I received do not close fully and there is a 1/8" gap so this adds additional clearance issues when dealing with some hose junctions. That was fixed by bending the jaws so that it can sit a bit better. The other is the handles have a hard edge that feels sharp. Not enough to cut but more reminiscent of cheap stamped stuff from a country that starts with "Ch".

In all, bending the jaws then grinding the handle to break the hard edge made these easier to use. Since it already has had the grinder to it, I'll likely taper and angle the jaws so that they aren't as thick. This should allow them to reach into slightly more confined spaces...hopefully.

They work as necessary but on small hoses, which I originally bought them for the tool is a bit cumbersome in certain areas. Cutting the hose off is an easier approach. I'd have returned it but for $10 and the mods to make them more useful, the return option is gone. This was a 50-50 purchase, I could have done without.

These work pretty well. They work by digging into the hose fitting on one side and levering against the hose on the other. By digging into the fitting they will mar the surface; something to keep in mind. I've used it on stubborn hoses and it pops them off.

Can't tell you how many times I've mangled hoses by using vise grips and channel locks and screwdrivers and prybars. No more. I expect this elegantly simple solution to save me time and money by retaining hose integrity during removal and YES...I NEED the color coding. At my age and with my declining eyesight and these necessary yet frustrating tri-focal lenses...this is very much appreciated. Heck, I can tell which handle goes to which jaw without my specs!

I've used this tool for other purposes than its intended use as it's made heavy enough. I find that a lot of times it's just as well to catch a hose on its end with a blade as many times there just is no room to use a tool as this.

Perhaps there are some applications where this is the tool to have, but I found that it doesn't quite work out. When I have easy access and could fit this tool in, I have plenty of leverage with my hang or a plastic pry bar. When access is limited, and it might be really useful, I couldn't get this thing lined up right.
