I had some tight spark plug wire boots and the red rubber handle grips slid off the handle once I started pulling.

Using these I was able to get the socket and spark plug in position and hold them there until I got my finger tips down far enough to install them.

The tool is also great for putting the boot back on after you've replaced the spark plug - there's not a whole lot of space to work with in there!

I have a Pontiac Grand Am with a 3.4L V6. I was able to remove three plug wires that are in plain sight. The other three plug wires are difficult to get at, so it was nearly impossible to get this tool to grip the hard to reach wires. This tool is only good when all the plug wires are easily accessible

This is just about the only tool that will safely remove the front-most spark plug wire boot on a 2001 4-cylinder S10. Before I bought this tool, I spent about 45 minutes twisting and cussing trying to get that thing off, but as soon as this beast came in the mail, I had it off in about 10 seconds. The tool is also great for putting the boot back on after you've replaced the spark plug - there's not a whole lot of space to work with in there!

I do my own maintenance on all my cars and others. I have been meaning to buy one of these spark plug wire removers for a while.
It kills me to go to change spark plugs and end up tearing a plug boot or wire. Ignition wires are expensive.
Save yourself time and money, buy it. It is cheap, built well and is made in the USA.

As another reviewer noted, they pliers aren't very helpful unless you have a lot of open space. I discovered these pliers are useless with my 2003 Chevy Tahoe with 5.3L engine. The problem is there's not enough space to both get the proper grip and get the right leverage with these things, so I moved on to using the twist-and-pull method with a standard pair of pliers with a good set of gripping teeth on them in addition to just my hands. Of course, the standard pliers tore up a couple of the wires, but that was fine since I was replacing those as well, so my advice would be to just swap plugs and wires at the same time since I don't know of a better wire plier that would work nicely on this type of vehicle.

I had some tight spark plug wire boots and the red rubber handle grips slid off the handle once I started pulling. Pretty much worthless for the project I bought them for, but possibly handy in the future, maybe I'll glue them on better.

Received item fast. These pliers are a must for removing spark plug wires on MB. Could not have done the job without them. Thanks, Marv...

I have a Mercedes ML430 and if you try to change the spark plugs it is almost impossible to pull the wire boots. I did the same job 10 years ago on the same car and it took me all day. This time I changed the 16 plugs in less then 4 hours because of this great tool. If you ever worked on a Mercedes V8 you know what I am talking about
