For the price, this is well made. Never had a prob w/Amazon orders. Weighs about 4lbs w/stones. Combine that w/a geared,8amp,550rpm 1/2 drill w/T-handle and yeh better have so muscles. Its about 18" L. Has a hex end for the drill chuck. I wound the rack out all the way and they came off. Trying to set them in again was like a chinese puzzle. You gotta place them in correctly. Instructions tell ya. The aluminum guide block is very well machined and anodized. Extension bar is hefty 9/16"OD chrome steel. Knurled knobs-I took one off and re-knurled. Nice plastic storage box w/SS brush, Coarse set, Med set, and 60grit sand paper-to file stones. Its basically a piece of sand paper glued on a wood board-not very professional, but works.
Only prob I had, is the clip-on stones come loose on the racks. I had to coarse hone a .015" OOR 4"ID tube fairly tight, used both hands to hold. I did this horizontal. This may have opened the clips up.
When the hone was removed from cyl, I have to push the stones back on to start the hone in. Didnt have kerosene or oil, I used WD40 on aluminum. The wipers are getting chewed up also. 1/2 hr use.
But it gets the job done fairly quick. Ill get the 16000 next. These reviews are important to others for purchasing-pls post.

Works great! Took out .020 on a 4" cylinder! Now...before you rush to purchase this hone for removing this much material, be aware that it will take some time and muscle to achieve decent results. To achieve the desired finish took nearly 2 hrs, but the results were quite accurate.
You will need a strong gear reduction 1/2" drill (no more than 800 rpm). Keep lubed with 50/50 mix of motor oil and kerosene, clean the stones often, and be patient.

I did not experience any "loosening" of the stones as some other reviewers stated, though I did, however, manage to reverse my drill accidentally a time or two. (I suspect that this could have a negative effect on the stones and the mounting clips almost immediately)
I am very pleased with this product.

This is still the best hone you can get for the money, whether you are cross hatching or taking out material.

Excellent tool for any size shop. Very good quality. Shipping leaves a small flaw that could be corrected with proper packing inside the tools plastic case. My item arrived fine....but upon opening the case I noticed the stones had "banged around" from shipping and due to a lack of packing material inside the tools case. However....no stones were damaged and all was well. I have been a professional engine machinists and technician "all my life" and I can assure anyone that this tool is very well made and the price was very reasonable.

First of all the hone works excellent. The first hone job was going .020" oversize on a honda quad engine. It only took about 15 min to finish the bore for the new piston and with no perceivable taper. Quality unit, at least as good if not better than my old sunnen hone. I knocked off one star only because one of the finish stones arrived with the end of the stone broken off. Factory internal packaging could be a bit better.

This is a much better tool than any of those oversize wheel cylinder hones. This has rigid stones and felt wipers, with a micro-adjustment that will allow precisely honing a cylinder bore to exact specification. As with any manual hone, getting the correct crosshatch pattern on the cylinder walls requires some skill.

Husband works on antique tractors and he uses the hone a lot and loves the way it works. Glad we could find it.
