A "must read" for every agent, new and old,
By A Customer
This review is from: How to List & Sell Real Estate in the 21st Century (Hardcover)
This book is the most complete treatise on how to become an effective and successful real estate agent that I have found. It covers every aspect of becoming a "top producer" for those that are willing to work. This edition is an update of "How to List and Sell Real Estate in the 90's" which I read last year. It contains much of the same information but addresses the practice of real estate using the Internet and some new agency issues such as exclusive buyer broker agency. Every realtor should have a copy of this book in his/her office!

This book assisted me immediatly with ideas and suggestions. I got my license in January & 2 1/2 months later have completed my 1st transaction, with 2 more in escrow and a great listing. I especially appreciate the subject index as it allows me to target specific areas of particular interest, like FSBO's or Prospecting. This book is definitely worth the investment.

Horrible book with useless, obvious advice.,

This review is from: How to List and Sell Real Estate in the 21st Century (Nar) (Hardcover)
Handing out pumpkins on Halloween and giving out scratchpads to everyone on the street is not part of the real estate business. Prospecting regularly, however, is. The book contains only 18 pages on prospecting and the rest of the book is useless garbage. New agents who follow the advice in the book will never be doing more than 20 deal a year and will spend most of their hard earned money on scratchpads, stupid cheap client gifts and halloween pumpkins and their time learning "quick-speak inventory" and the script for a boring three-hour listing presentation outlined in the book, instead of selling and making deals. Read a Mike Ferry or a Floyd Wickman publication for information on how to build a profitable and efficient real estate practice. Do yourself a favor: don't buy this book. Boris Kholodov

A fantastic reference book,

After reading the book I realise that success in selling real estate depends a great deal on techniques which the author share with us in her excellent book. They are practical and may be applied to listing and selling homes even in Singapore, where I live and work, thousands of miles away from the United States of America.I treasure this book as I refer to it constantly. For example, I have read almost all the books written on real estate and it is hard to find a more complete guide to conducting an open house successfully.

I have seen Danielle Kennedy in action years ago and never forgot her enthusiasm or her speech. I buy this book for myself and others every time it gets an update. There simply is no better, more complete guide for real estate agents. I have 36 years of experience and still benefit from a re-read.

Good for agents; don't buy if you already have business degree,

I have a PhD in Finance, and tons of business experience in various industries, but am new to real estate. I thought this would give me some insights into the industry. Nope. It is basic business and customer service practices. It is well done, mind you, but if you aleady have a stong business background/training, you won't get anything from this book. For agents without a business college degree of any level, this is a must have! Great ideas.
