This is a very funny story of a little bunny, who is cabable of hearing things correctly, but rarely does. This is pretty annoying to Buddy's parents, but still Buddy isn't really motivated to listen more carefully until he mixes up some directions and runs into trouble. Luckily dear Buddy gets out of the jam unscathed, and ready to do some fine listening, too.

Really is one of the more fun stories to read.

I used this a lot when I was teaching a program called "Peaceful People." Even the very young got the idea about the inportance of listening. I highly rrecommend this book in teaching lessons on listening.

My son and I have read this book numerous times. I never tire of the beatifully detailed pictures and the silly listening errors made by Buddy Bunny. You will love it!

This book was better than I anticipated. Buddy the rabbit goes along his merry way without listening correctly to anyone. Then he runs into the Scruffy Varmit who doesn't put up with little bunnies who won't listen. Buddy almost ends up as Scruffy's soup du jour, but Buddy learns the lesson finally and listens perfectly. My kids love this book with the wonderful illustrations in it. I love it for the message it sends about listening. I can just tell them to "Listen Buddy" when I can't seem to get my 3 and 5 year old's attention. Love this book.

Buddy has great ears, but he is not a very good listener. He confuses tomatoes and potatoes and squash with wash. When allowed to hop past the vegetable stand, his inattention to his parents' warning leads him straight to the cave of the Scruffy Varmit, where real trouble begins. Only when he really listens, does he find his way out of trouble.

I use this story with kindergarten students to help them understand how to be a good listener and that listening is an important skill to have because it helps them stay safe and learn.

Our three year old daughter cannot get enough of this darling tale about a bunny rabbit who does not listen. He has trouble using his wonderfully long ears until one day he meets up with the "scruffy varmint." She has several lines to the story already memorized and we have only had this hilarious book for about a week. She keeps saying, "again, again." She cannot help giggle and laugh as we read this delightful story.

You can't go wrong with a Helen Lester book. The story always contains a life lesson and is always humorous and entertaining in the text AND the illustrations. Great stores to READ ALOUD as a parent or teacher.

This is the cutest book. The illustrations wouldn't be anything without the dialog and visa versa. They tie together so well. Just a great book. I am going to buy several more.

Listen Buddy This book is a fun read aloud, because the dialogue lends itself to exasperated sighs, high pitched loud voices and a wonderful growly, scruffy varmint. Plus it teaches a fairly good moral about listening the first time. To top it all off it teaches some fun rhyming with excellent drawings. This is a good read!

Paying attention may be difficult, but Buddy learns that it pays in the long run. Well... sort of!
Another of Helen Lester's entertaining and yet educational books.
I had not seen this one until recently. What a fun way to teach a child about listening!
